The eighth season of Nouvelle Star began on March 2 and finished on June 16. Virginie Guilhaume returned as the host for her sophomore season. André Manoukian remained as the only original jury member after eight years along Philippe Manœuvre and Lio. After one season Sinclair decided to leave and was replaced by former FFF-member Marco Prince because of, according to fellow judge Lio, personal dissatisfaction in the Nouvelle Star-experience for Sinclair.
The sixth season of Nouvelle Star aired from February 21 to June 13, 2008. Virginie Efira hosted her third season. Novelties of the season were brought with a change in the judging panel as André Manoukian remained as the only former jury member. Next to him, Lio, Sinclair and Philippe Manœuvre judged the contestants for the first time. Also a veto power was introduced in which the judges had the right to save an eliminated contestant which they used at their first opportunity. A similar element was later seen in the eighth season of American Idol.

The eighth cycle of Australia's Next Top Model began airing 9 July 2013 on Fox8. Model and Miss Universe 2004 Jennifer Hawkins took over as the host for this season, replacing Sarah Murdoch. Hawkins had previously appeared in one episode at the inaugural cycle, joining incumbent judges Alex Perry and Charlotte Dawson with Didier Cohen joining the show as a new judge. This is the last series of Australia's Next Top Model to feature Dawson, before she died of an apparent suicide five months after it ended.
