NyxAir OÜ is an Estonian regional airline headquartered in Tallinn operating scheduled and charter passenger and cargo flights. [1] [2]
NyxAir was founded in 2017 and on 7 June 2018, the Estonian Transport Agency issued its Air Operator Certificate (AOC). [2]
The airline mainly performs short-term charters, but has also in 2020 and 2021 won government procurements and wet-lease contracts to fly domestic flights in Estonia, Finland and Sweden. In Estonia, the company started flights between Tallinn and Kuressaare on the island Saaremaa in December 2020. and between Tallinn and Kärdla in Hiiumaa from 1 March 2024 [3] In Finland, the company runs flights from Helsinki to Jakobstad - Kokkola, Savonlinna, Kemi and Jyväskylä since May 2021. NyxAir has also flown domestic flights in Sweden on behalf of Air Leap. Since March 2022 it flies from Stockholm-Bromma to Trollhättan on behalf of the Swedish local airline Västflyg. The Saab 2000 is a twin-engined high-speed turboprop airliner built by Swedish aircraft manufacturer Saab. It is designed to carry 50–58 passengers and able to cruise at a maximum speed of 685 km/h (370 kn). Production took place in Linköping, Sweden. It first flew in March 1992 and was certified in 1994. Copterline Oy was Finland's largest helicopter airline established on 15 October 1990 as Copter Action and renamed to Copterline in 2000. In 2004 the company ferried over 75,000 passengers. On December 19, 2008, Copterline confirmed that it had ceased its scheduled service between Helsinki and Tallinn. On 15 February 2010, Copterline filed for bankruptcy, citing inability to keep the company profitable. Its head office was located on the grounds of Helsinki-Malmi Airport in Helsinki. In 2011, Line Support Oy, founded by mostly the same group as Copterline Oy, announced a resumption of service from September, operated by its Estonian subsidiary Copterline OÜ. On 9 September 2011, the first commercial flights were undertaken.
