The university offers 132 bachelor's degree programs and 138 professional graduate certificate, master's degree, and doctoral degree programs, including those offered by the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.

Pete Beiden Field at Bob Bennett Stadium, formerly Varsity Park, is a baseball stadium on the campus of the California State University, Fresno in Fresno, California, United States. It was built in 1966. The field is the home of the Fresno State Bulldogs baseball team and named after former Fresno State baseball coach Pete Beiden. The park was redesigned in 1983 and now holds 3,575 people. Prior to the 2002 opening of Grizzlies Stadium, the park also was the home of the Fresno Grizzlies minor league baseball team of the triple-A Pacific Coast League.

Kampe is the third longest-tenured Division I head coach, behind Jim Boeheim and Mike Krzyzewski. Oakland last played in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament in 2011.
The San Diego Toreros baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate baseball program of the University of San Diego, located in San Diego, California, United States. The program has been a member of the NCAA Division I West Coast Conference since prior to the 1985 season. Since 2013, its home venue has been Fowler Park, located on the University of San Diego campus. Rich Hill has been the program's head coach since prior to the 1999 season. As of the end of the 2012 season, the team has appeared in seven NCAA Tournaments, all since 2002. It has won four conference championship series, three regular season conference championships, and two regular season division championships. As of the start of the 2014 Major League Baseball season, 15 former Toreros have appeared in Major League Baseball.

The field is home to the Binghamton Bearcats baseball team of the NCAA Division I America East Conference. The field holds a capacity of 1,000 spectators. In 2010, the field hosted the America East Conference Baseball Tournament.

Oakland finished the season 26–9 overall, 17–1 in The Summit League and were the league's regular season and conference tournament champions. The Golden Grizzlies received The Summit League's automatic berth into the NCAA tournament and, as a No. 14 seed, lost to No. 3 Pittsburgh in the first round.

Oakland received The Summit League's automatic berth into the 2011 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament as a #13 seed against #4 seeded Texas. The Golden Grizzlies lost the game 85–81.

Skyhawk Baseball Field is a baseball venue in Martin, Tennessee, United States. It is home to the UT Martin Skyhawks baseball team of the Division I Ohio Valley Conference. Built in 1974, the venue was renovated in 2005 and 2008. In 2005, a deck viewing area located down the first base line was added. In 2008, seating areas were improved and a new scoreboard was added. The field also features stadium lighting. The Skyhawk Baseball/Softball Building sits adjacent to Skyhawk Park and includes offices and clubhouses for both programs.
Greenwood Baseball Field is a baseball venue in Asheville, North Carolina, United States. It is home to the UNC Asheville Bulldogs baseball team of the NCAA Division I Big South Conference. The facility opened in 1988. It has a capacity of 300 spectators. It features an electronic scoreboard, dugouts, and a natural grass surface.
Reginald Lamont Hamilton, Jr. is an American professional basketball player. In 2011–12, his senior year at Oakland University, Hamilton averaged 26.2 points per game to lead all of NCAA Division I in scoring. He scored 2,188 points between his time spent at UMKC and Oakland.
Skeeles Field, formerly known as Lee R. Jackson Baseball Field, is a baseball venue on the campus of the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio, United States. It is the home field of the Akron Zips baseball team and part of the 23-acre (9.3 ha) Lee R. Jackson Athletic Complex which also includes the varsity softball field, track and field complex, a football practice field, and FirstEnergy Stadium–Cub Cadet Field. The facility was built in 1967, moved to its current site in 1972, and has a listed seating capacity of 1,500 spectators.
Alexander Field is a baseball venue in West Lafayette, Indiana, United States. It is home to the Purdue Boilermakers baseball team of the NCAA Division I Big Ten Conference. The field hosted its first game in spring 2013. The venue has a capacity of 1,500 spectators that is expandable to 2,500 spectators. It is named for John and Anna Margaret Ross Alexander, Purdue alumni and the parents of former Purdue head baseball coach Dave Alexander
The 2016–17 Oakland Golden Grizzlies men's basketball team represented Oakland University (OU) during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Golden Grizzlies were led by 33rd year head coach Greg Kampe and played their home games at the Athletics Center O'rena in Rochester, Michigan as members of the Horizon League. They finished the season 25–9, 14–4 in Horizon League play to finish in a share for the Horizon League regular season championship. As the No. 1 seed, they were upset in the Quarterfinals of the Horizon League Tournament by Youngstown State. As a conference champion and No. 1 seed who failed to win their conference tournament, they received an automatic bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they defeated Clemson in the first round to advance to the second round where they lost to Richmond.
The 2016 Horizon League men's soccer season is the 24th season of men's varsity soccer in the conference.
John W. Smithson Field is a baseball venue in Merion Station, Pennsylvania, United States. It is home to the Saint Joseph's Hawks baseball team of the NCAA Division I Atlantic 10 Conference. The field hosted its first game in spring 2012. The venue has a capacity of 400 spectators. It is named for John Smithson, Saint Joseph's alumni and once interim president of Saint Joseph's University.
