Oakmont High School is located at 1710 Cirby Way, in Roseville, California, United States. The school is surrounded by the communities of Citrus Heights, Rocklin, Granite Bay, and Antelope. It is one of five comprehensive high schools in the Roseville Joint Union High School District.
Oakmont opened in September, 1965. [4] In 2014, fourteen players were suspended from the football team for drug usage. [5] [6]
In 2021, hundreds of students were forced to quarantine due to Covid-19 after five students tested positive. [7]
In 2014, one of two hazing incidents that targeted an African-American student resulted in the thirteen students being charged with hate crimes. At the time, Oakmont was largely white, with only 3 percent of the schools population being Black. [8] In 2015, another incident of racial hatred occurred on campus, including vandalism. [9] In 2022 another racist incident occurred in which two separate White students, spurred on by nationwide protests involving the treatment of George Floyd, spread videos with offensive content toward Black students. [10]
During the 2008–2009 school year, 200 students took Advanced Placement exams. According to the California Department of Education, approximately 47% of the exams taken that year were scored a “3” or better.[ citation needed ]
The school also offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and the Health Careers Academy. [11] The latter is a three-year college preparatory program for students who want to explore working in healthcare.
As of the 2022-2023 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,602 students, of whom 10 were American Indian/Alaska natives, 250 were Asian, 43 were Black, 417 Hispanic, 13 Native Hawiian/Pacific Islander, 765 White, and 93 of two or more races. 324 were eligible for free lunch and 34 for reduced-price lunch. The school reported 77.55 teachers on a full-time-equivalent basis. [12]
Granite Bay is a census-designated place (CDP) in Placer County, California, United States. It is part of the Sacramento–Arden-Arcade–Roseville Metropolitan Statistical Area. Granite Bay is a primarily residential suburb of Sacramento and is located just east of Roseville and west of Folsom Lake.

Rainier Beach High School is a public secondary school in the Seattle Public Schools system. It is located in the Rainier Beach area, in the southeastern part of the city of Seattle, Washington, United States. The school historically has had a strong emphasis on team sports, and many championship teams. The building has a capacity of 1,200 students, but enrollment has declined greatly in recent years. In 2006, 1,302 of the 1,600 high school students living in the Rainier Beach neighborhood traveled out of the area each morning to attend other high schools. In 2008–09, Rainier Beach began the year with 453 students and ended with about 295, giving an average monthly enrollment of 374. Sixty students chose it as their first choice. Antelope High School is one of the five high schools in the Roseville Joint Union High School District. The school is located at 7801 Titan Drive, in Antelope, California, United States. Antelope High School opened up for 9th and 10th grade students at the beginning of the 2008–2009 school year. From the year of 2010- all grade levels were embarked. Class of 2011 Antelope students had attended Oakmont High School or Center High School. The Class of 2011 was the first graduating class.
Frederick Cyril "Fred" Besana was a Major League Baseball pitcher who played for the Baltimore Orioles in 1956. He also played in the minor leagues for eight seasons.
Preston Blake Guilmet is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cleveland Indians, Baltimore Orioles, Tampa Bay Rays, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, Toronto Blue Jays, and Miami Marlins. He has also played for the Tokyo Yakult Swallows of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). He grew up in Roseville, California and graduated from Oakmont High School. He later played college baseball for the University of Arizona.
