"I Fell In Love With the DJ" is a song by Australian recording artist Che'Nelle from her debut studio album, Things Happen for a Reason (2007). The song was chosen as her first commercial single release. The song was originally written and recorded by Che'Nelle. The artist gained attention of US record producers and later signed an album deal. "I Fell In Love With the DJ" was remixed ahead of its release and Jamaican rapper Cham's vocals added. The song samples the 2005 song "Reggae Bump Bump", performed by American singer R. Kelly. It features "cheeky" lyrics about falling in love with a DJ at a nightclub. To promote the single Che'Nelle completed a US radio tour in forty states. The song did not perform well in the US, only peaking at number 98 on the Pop 100. It fared better in Japan and Europe, with it charting in several countries in the latter territory. Che'Nelle also refocused her efforts on promoting the single and album in Japan and its success helped her forge a long-standing career in the country.
Manic Drive is a Canadian Christian rock band, formed in 2004 by brothers Michael and Shawn Cavallo. The Cavallos began singing at the ages of eight and nine. After receiving interest from a record label, they released Reason for Motion in May 2005. Brandon Paris Band is a Canadian rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia, Brandon Paris started the band in 2002. The band performs a fusion of pop, rock, reggae, punk and soul. They have gained a huge amount of popularity in many parts of Canada and attained an already significant fan base across Canada before they signed a deal with Koch Entertainment in January 2006. They released their first song "Rewind and Start Again" in March 2006, from their debut album titled On My Own, which after a few months hit Top 20, peaking at No. 17 on the Canadian CHR charts. The second single almost reached top 40 at No. 53 CHR, Topping off an already exceptional year, Brandon Paris Band was nominated for Best New Group or Solo Artist (CHR) by the Canadian Radio Music Awards in spring of 2007 in 2006.

Melanie Fiona Hallim is a Canadian singer and songwriter. She was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. She began her career in 2002 as part of a Canadian girl group trio, who was nominated for a Juno Award for R&B/Soul Recording of the Year for the group's self-titled album. She went on to be part of The Renaissance, and under the name Syren Hall, recorded some reggae songs.

Hey Ocean! is a Canadian indie alternative rock and synthpop band formed in 2004 in Vancouver. David Beckingham and Ashleigh Ball had been friends since grade 6, joining with David Vertesi in the 2000s to form the band. The band consists of Ashleigh Ball (vocals/flute), David Beckingham (vocals/guitar), and David Vertesi (vocals/bass). Their music draws from many genres, including pop and acoustic, and the group tours Canada widely. They have performed locally alongside other Vancouver acts such as Shad K, Mother Mother and Said the Whale.
Kay Boutilier better known by her stage name, My Name Is Kay, or just simply as Kay and now Goldilox, is a Canadian singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Reserve Mines, Nova Scotia, she left Cape Breton Island after graduating from Holy Angels High School in 2005. A struggling artist, Kay eventually moved to Vancouver, B.C., and turned to the Internet to widen her audience and increase her chances of being discovered. Her first music video, released for her debut single "My Name Is Kay", turned into a YouTube sensation, with hits topping 480,000. The song also charted on the Canadian Hot 100, debuting at No. 80, and peaking at No. 63. She now tours Paris as a DJ, under the name goldilox. She released her debut EP under the name Goldilox called Skin via Sony Music Entertainment and has since released multiple singles and an album independently.
