Onyaanya Constituency (until 1999 Okatope Constituency) [1] is an electoral constituency in the Oshikoto Region of Namibia. It had 13,474 inhabitants in 2004 [2] and 11,434 registered voters in 2020 [update] . [3] Its district capital is the settlement of Onyaanya.
Onyaanya constituency is traditionally a stronghold of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) party.
The councillor elected in the 2010 regional elections was Henock Kankoshi. He was subsequently elected to represent Oshikoto Region in the National Council of Namibia. [4] In the 2015 local and regional elections the SWAPO candidate won uncontested and became councillor after no opposition party nominated a candidate. [5] The SWAPO candidate also won the 2020 regional election. Gideon Shikomba received 4,023 votes, well ahead of Onesmus Kapuka of the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC), a party formed in August 2020, who obtained 1,063 votes. [3]
Oshikoto is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia, named after Lake Otjikoto. Its capital is Omuthiya. Further major settlements in the region are Tsumeb, Otjikoto's capital until 2008, and Oniipa. As of 2020, Oshikoto had 112,170 registered voters.
Omuthiyagwiipundi is the capital of Oshikoto Region in northern Namibia, situated approximately 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from Etosha National Park. It has about 5,000 residents. Prior to Omuthiya, Tsumeb was the regional capital. The town has been proclaimed in October 2007 and the Omuthiya Town Council established in September 2008.

Henock Tangeni Kankoshi, is a Namibian politician. He served as governor of Oshikoto Region, succeeding Penda Ya Ndakolo in 2015. When his term ended in April 2020, Ya Ndakolo became Oshikoto governor again.
Nehale IyaMpingana Constituency is an electoral constituency in the Oshikoto Region of Namibia, named after Nehale lya Mpingana, one of Namibia's National Heroes. It was created in August 2013, following a recommendation of the Fourth Delimitation Commission of Namibia, and in preparation of the 2014 general election. The administrative centre of Nehale lyaMpingana is the settlement of Okoloti. As of 2020 the constituency had 5,879 registered voters.
Mankumpi Constituency is an electoral constituency in the Kavango West Region of Namibia. The administrative centre is the village of Satotwa. Mankumpi was created in August 2013, following a recommendation of the Fourth Delimitation Commission of Namibia, and in preparation of the 2014 general election. It was formed from the south-eastern part of the former Kahenge Constituency.
