Wilsonville is a city primarily in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. A portion of the northern section of the city is in Washington County. It was founded as Boones Landing because of the Boones Ferry which crossed the Willamette River at the location; the community became Wilsonville in 1880. The city was incorporated in 1969 with a population of approximately 1,000. The population was 13,991 at the 2000 census, and grew to 19,509 as of 2010. Slightly more than 90% of residents at the 2000 census were white, with Hispanics comprising the largest minority group.

In 2008, the school's name was changed to the Department of Science and Engineering and by 2010, the department was dissolved and the academic programs and research were disseminated to other OHSU institutes and departments.

The Beaverton Health & Science School was a public school in the U.S. state of Oregon. Part of the Beaverton School District (BSD), the school offered grades 6 through 12. Opened in 2007, the school was housed in the Capital Center at 185th Avenue and Walker Road in Hillsboro. Since the beginning of 2016, the school has been directly adjacent to another BSD option school, the School of Science & Technology, with the relocation of that school to the Capital Center at the end of 2015. The school hosts a HOSA- Future Health Professionals chapter. For the 2020–2021 school year and onward, this school and the neighboring school, the School of Science and Technology have merged to become the Beaverton Academy of Science and Engineering.

The National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli is a national research deemed university near the city of Tiruchirappalli in Tamil Nadu, India. It was founded as Regional Engineering College Tiruchirappalli in 1964 by the governments of India and Tamil Nadu under the affiliation of the University of Madras. The college was granted deemed university status in 2003 with the approval of the University Grants Commission (UGC), the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and the Government of India and renamed the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli.
The 2021 Oregon Tech strike was a labor strike involving faculty members from the Oregon Institute of Technology. The strike was organized by the Oregon Tech - American Association of University Professors (OT-AAUP), a local union representing the faculty members that had been formed in 2018 and was recognized by the university in 2019. Following its recognition, the union and university entered into contract negotiations for the faculty members' first labor contract. However, negotiations proceeded slowly, and by early 2021, an agreement had not been reached. On March 17, both sides presented their final offers and the following month, union members voted to authorize strike action. On April 26, following a round of last-minute negotiations, the union officially commenced strike action.
