Oxide & Neutrino are an English DJ and MC garage duo from London, consisting of Alex Rivers (Oxide), and Mark Osei-tutu (Neutrino). [1] [2] [3]
Their first single "Bound 4 da Reload (Casualty)" entered at the top of the UK Singles Chart in April 2000. [4] It is known for sampling the theme music to the BBC medical drama series Casualty , ITV police drama The Bill [5] and also contains samples of dialogue from the 1998 film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels .
Their track "Shoot to Kill" appears, played from car stereos, in the film Ali G Indahouse . It is also featured on the original soundtrack CD.
Oxide & Neutrino are members of UK garage group So Solid Crew. Oxide also produced tracks on Lisa Maffia's debut album, First Lady, and the track "Industry Lady" on Face's mixtape Sign 2 the Block.
The duo made a return to the music scene in 2007, first with new single "What R U" released on 14 May, and then with their fourth album 2nd Chance following on 11 June. An interview with Darker Romello of Mayhem TV entitled "The Return of Oxide & Neutrino" appeared on Grimedaily, announcing new material set to be released in the summer of 2011. [6]
In 2013, the duo appeared alongside many other garage pioneers in a documentary exploring the legacy of UK garage, Rewind 4Ever: The History of UK Garage. [7]
The duo signed a new record deal in January 2021 with New State Music and released the track "Where Do We Go" featuring Leo the Lion. [8]

"Do They Know It's Christmas?" is a charity song written in 1984 by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise money for the 1983–1985 famine in Ethiopia. It was first recorded by Band Aid, a supergroup assembled by Geldof and Ure consisting of popular British and Irish musical acts. It was recorded in a single day at Sarm West Studios in Notting Hill, London, in November 1984.
Lisa Maffia is a British singer-songwriter, musician, rapper, actress, fashion designer, model and presenter, who originally came to the public's attention as the main female member of So Solid Crew. Whilst in So Solid Crew, the singer notched up five top 20 hits, including a platinum-selling single "21 Seconds" and a platinum selling album They Don't Know. As a solo artist, she has released two top 10 singles and an award-winning album including the platinum selling single "All Over". Her most recent release to date, was 2017’s "Wah Gwarn". Maffia is mixed race, born to a half-Italian mother and a Jamaican father.
187 Lockdown was a British speed garage act, comprising Danny Harrison and Julian Jonah. The duo produced one album, with four singles released from it, and remixed many songs towards the end of the 1990s.
Shaft are an English electronic music production duo, known for their covers and remixes of "(Mucho Mambo) Sway" and "Mambo Italiano". The former entered and peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart in August 1999, then reached number one on New Zealand's Recorded Music NZ chart in December. They followed this with the release of "Mambo Italiano", which peaked at number twelve on the UK Singles Chart but ultimately did not replicate the success of the previous single. They went on to tour the world and win a gold disc for best performing group. Since then, they have recorded more songs such as "Kiri Riri Boom" and "Shake Seniora".
"Master Blaster (Jammin')" is a 1980 song by American singer-songwriter Stevie Wonder, released as the lead single from his nineteenth studio album, Hotter than July (1980). It was a major hit, spending seven weeks at number one on the US Billboard R&B singles chart, reaching number five on Billboard's pop singles chart in the fall of 1980 and peaking at number two on the UK Singles Chart, and number one in New Zealand.
"Bound 4 da Reload (Casualty)" is the debut single by British duo Oxide & Neutrino, members of the So Solid Crew. The track features a sample from the theme tune to the BBC medical drama Casualty, composed by Ken Freeman. The duo had not initially gone the correct route to clear the rights to use the Casualty theme, instead calling a BBC receptionist to tell them they were sampling it. When they signed with EastWest Records, the company cleared the sample. The song was first released in 1999 on white label, simply titled "Casualty".
"Teardrops" is a song by American husband-and-wife duo Womack & Womack, released on 5 August 1988 by Island Records as the first single from their fourth studio album, Conscience (1988). The song was written by Cecil Womack and Linda Womack, while production was helmed by Chris Blackwell. Although the song was not a hit in their native United States, it charted highly in the United Kingdom and several European countries, as well as Australia and New Zealand.
H "Two" O are an English, Leicester based garage and bassline duo, consisting of Solution and Oz. The name H "Two" O is a reference to the name of the radio station where the pair first met before they started producing music themselves.
Execute is the debut album of So Solid Crew members Oxide & Neutrino, released on 28 May 2001. It features the Casualty sampling number 1 single "Bound 4 da Reload (Casualty)" and the Prodigy cover "No Good 4 Me". The song "Devil's Nightmare" was also featured on the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider soundtrack.
2 Stepz Ahead is the second album by Oxide & Neutrino, released on 30 September 2002. The album features two top 20 singles and peaked at #28 on the UK albums chart. The song "Shoot 2 Kill" was prominently featured in the film Ali G Indahouse and also appeared on the soundtrack.
Oxide & Neutrino Present: The Solid Sound of the Underground is a 2000 compilation album containing songs of the So Solid Crew and various other artists of the UK garage scene.

So Solid Crew are a British UK garage and hip hop collective originating from Battersea, London, which achieved wide success in the early 2000s. The group consisted of many members, the most notable being Asher D, Lisa Maffia, Harvey and Romeo. So Solid have been credited for being pioneers in the UK music scene. By turning UK garage from a dancey-genre to one that was darker and more MC-oriented, and gaining mainstream success, they inspired London youth to experiment with their own darker sounds, leading to what would become known as grime music.

They played a reunion gig at The Hydro Glasgow on 24 January 2014. A live album, Into the Mirror, recorded on the reunion tour in January and February 2014 was released on 20 October 2014.
"Flowers" is the debut single by UK garage duo Sweet Female Attitude, released on 3 April 2000. The song uses the same chord sequence as Erik Satie's Trois Gymnopédies, and the actual piece can be heard in the version by The House & Garage Orchestra, from the 2018 album Garage Classics.
UK garage, abbreviated as UKG, is a genre of electronic dance music which originated in England in the early to mid-1990s. The genre was most clearly inspired by garage house and jungle production methods, but also incorporates elements from dance-pop and R&B. It is defined by percussive, shuffled rhythms with syncopated hi-hats, cymbals, and snares, and may include either 4/4 house kick patterns or more irregular "2-step" rhythms. Garage tracks also commonly feature 'chopped up' and time-stretched or pitch-shifted vocal samples complementing the underlying rhythmic structure at a tempo usually around 130 BPM.

Dem 2 is the name of UK garage musician Dean Boylan. They were originally a duo which consisted of Boylan and Spencer Edwards, who are from Thurrock in Essex. Since 2011, Boylan continued releasing material under the Dem 2 moniker as a solo artist.
