Ozone Football Club Bengaluru is an Indian professional football club based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Ozone competes as a member of the I-League 2nd Division, the second level of Indian football, and the Bangalore Super Division, the top division of Karnataka football. Ozone reached the final round of the I-League 2nd Division in the 2017–18, 2018–19 seasons and were also the winner's of the Bangalore Super Division in 2017–18. [1]

History

Ozone Football Club Bengaluru was launched on 3 November 2015 by the Ozone Group with the goal of making the I-League by 2017. [2] The club were quick to make a mark on the local football scene, winning the Bangalore Super Division in December 2015, within their first month of existence. [3]

On 17 December 2016, it was revealed that the club would participate in the 2016–17 I-League 2nd Division. [1] Ozone were included in Group C along with Pride Sports, Fateh Hyderabad and Kenkre. However, they could not advance beyond group stage.

In the 2017–18 season Ozone after winning the Bangalore Super Division continued their form in the Second Division I-League reaching the final stages of the league eventually to fall short of qualifying for the I-League.

The 2017–18 Bangalore Super Division was the seventh season of the Bangalore Super Division which is the third tier of the Indian association football system and the top tier of the Karnataka football system. The season started on 10 November 2017. Madras Engineering Group (MEG) were the defending champions. Bangalore Independents and Jawahar Union were promoted from 'A' Division, whereas a new team FC Deccan was a direct entry team. AGORC and DYES teams were relegated to 'A' Division. Bengaluru FC fielded their newly launched reserve team, Bengaluru FC 'B'. All games were played at Bangalore Football Stadium.

The 2017–18 I-League 2nd Division was the 11th season of the I-League 2nd Division, the second division Indian football league, since its establishment in 2008. The season started with the preliminary rounds from 14 March to 15 May 2018. The final round of the league took place between 21 May to 30 May 2018 at FSV Arena, Bengaluru.

There are currently 36 state associations affiliated with the All India Football Federation. These state associations have state leagues affiliated to them.

The 2018–19 Bangalore Super Division was the eighth season of the Bangalore Super Division which is the third tier of the Indian association football system and the top tier of the Karnataka football system. The season started on 21 October 2018. Ozone F.C. were the defending champions. The league was contested by top 9 teams from 2017–18 season as well as ADE and Bangalore Eagles who were promoted from 2017–18 Bangalore 'A' division. They replaced Jawahar Union and CIL who were relegated to 2019–20 Bangalore 'A' Division. Kickstart FC, FC Bengaluru United and Bangalore Dream United were direct entry teams, thus bringing total number of teams to 14.

The 2019–20 Bangalore Super Division is the ninth season of the Bangalore Super Division which is the third tier of the Indian association football system and the top tier of the Karnataka football system. The season started on 2 November 2019. Bengaluru FC 'B' were the defending champions. All games were played at Bangalore Football Stadium. The league was contested by top 12 teams from 2018–19 season as well as Income Tax and AGORC who were promoted from 2018–19 Bangalore 'A' division. They replaced Jawahar Union and CIL who were relegated to 2019–20 Bangalore 'A' Division.
