Pain Emission were an American electro-industrial group based in San Diego, California, United States. The original incarnation consisted of vocalist Shonn Bratlien and keyboardist Thomas Smith (as Ray Nours), who were assisted by lyricist Johan Sherriffs (as John IV) and live percussionist Barry Dost in the studio. They released two albums on COP International, Fidget in 1993 and The War Within the following year. The band ceased activities shortly after they released the EP Nudge in 1994. [1]
Pain Emission was formed in San Diego by vocalist Shonn Bratlien and keyboardist Thomas Smith (as Ray Nours). The band first contributed the songs "Bimbo" to The Cyberflesh Conspiracy and "QuickSlot" to Below San Onofre, both compilation albums released in 1992, before signing to COP International and releasing their debut Fidget on August 12, 1993. [2] Pain Emission's second album titled The War Within was released in January 1994 and the EP Nudge followed in August of that year. [3] [4] The duo of Johan Sherriffs and Thomas Smith continued to write and record until 1997, releasing the limited cassette Pain Emission Recording Sessions in 1995 and contributing to several various artists compilations. The Swamp Terrorists were a Swiss electro-industrial music group that was formed in the late 1980s by STR, Ane H, and Francis H. Their music is harsh pounding electro mixed with grinding metal guitar riffs, and produces a sound similar to Die Warzau, KMFDM and White Zombie.

GPC Productions was an independent record label based in Allentown, Pennsylvania started in 1989 by Alex Kananowicz. The label primarily focused on issuing records by artists who were interested in experimenting with electronic-based industrial music. Kananowicz used the label to distribute his side projects to Sinister Attraction, namely: Sin Factor, ...less than 24 hours.../Journey Into the Fields of Pain and Original Sin/Machine Religion. It also served as an outlet for musical acts such as Blink Twice, Kevorkian Death Cycle and The MAS.
Original Sin/Machine Religion is a split album by Factor 42 and Teknition, released in May 1991 by GPC Productions. The original cassettes came packaged in black plastic wrapped by wire mesh and included a ten-page booklet of information about the music. After the cassette was produced, Alex Kane began writing letters and sending tapes to art contacts worldwide. The song "Man Is the Animal" by Teknition was released on the anti-ivory themed 1992 various artists compilation The Cyberflesh Conspiracy by If It Moves....
