The 12th Annual Panasonic Awards honoring the favorite in Indonesian television programming/production works/individual, were held on Friday, March 27, 2009 at the XXI Jakarta Theater in Jalan M.H. Thamrin, Menteng, Central Jakarta. Comedian Olga Syahputra and actor Raffi Ahmad hosted for this awards ceremonies. Chairman of the committee on this edition was Rinaldi Sjarif. The night of 12th ceremonies awards was held by Indonesian vice-president Jusuf Kalla and broadcast live on RCTI, MNCTV and Global TV. [1]

Scoring system

Selection of award categories is based on research conducted by AGB Nielsen Media Research. Each nomination is verified by the verification team composed of practitioners and people who are experts in the field of television and entertainment. Initial screening program of 12th annual ceremonies were did by AGB Media Research. Methods poll conducted by telephone on 1300 respondents were spread across ten cities in Indonesia.

The verification team of 12th annual ceremonies consists of individual who expert on television program, are Wishnutama (Trans TV), Yeni P. Ashar and Rosiana Silalahi (SCTV, Nana Putra (TPI), Manoj Punjabi (MD Entertainment), Irfan Ramli (Association of Indonesian advertising), Idi Subandy Ibrahim (Cultural Analyst and Student of the Post-Graduate Program of Communication, University of Indonesia) and Anjasmara (an Actor).

The Panasonic Gobel Awards were annual awards presented to television programs and performances in Indonesia based on a people's choice poll. The first awards ceremony was held in 1997 in partnership with Tabloid Citra and aired on Indosiar. Media Nusantara Citra began conducting the awards in 2000, with broadcasting rights held by RCTI. In 2003, TPI and Global TV also began televising the awards.

The Indonesian Film Festival is an annual awards ceremony organised by the Indonesian Film Board and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology to celebrate cinematic achievements in the Indonesian film industry. During the festival, the Citra Awards winners are announced and the best Indonesian films of the year are presented.

The Nickelodeon Indonesia Kids' Choice Awards was the Indonesian version of the American annual awards ceremony Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, produced and aired by Global TV. The show was held from 2008 to 2017 in Jakarta. Indonesia is the second country in Asia to hold this awards ceremony after the Philippines.

The 14th Annual Panasonic Gobel Awards was a ceremony held to honoring the favorite in Indonesian television programming/individual/production works, as chosen by the verification team of this ceremony awards. It was held on March 25, 2011, at the Djakarta Theater XXI in Jalan M.H. Thamrin, Menteng, Central Jakarta. This year's edition of the ceremony awards was themed "Bersama Untuk Bumi Indonesia". The ceremony was hosted by presenter Indra Bekti and Sari Nila on the red carpet and by Fanny Febriana for the live event and also introduced as Miss Green.

The 13th Annual Panasonic Gobel Awards honoring the favorite in television programming/production works/individual, was held on March 26, 2010, at the Ballroom Theater Djakarta XXI in Jalan M.H. Thamrin, Menteng, Central Jakarta. RCTI, Global TV and RCTI televised the ceremony in the Indonesia. This 2010 ceremony awards this issue titled "Indonesia Unite". The event coincides with the Golden Year of PT Panasonic Gobel Indonesia, as the organizer of Panasonic Awards.

James Parulian Putra Nababan, commonly known as Putra Nababan is an Indonesian newsreader, journalist, and politician. He has served in the House of Representatives representing Jakarta's 1st electoral district since 2019. He was editor-in-chief of MetroTV. He has received four Panasonic Gobel awards.

The 15th Annual Panasonic Gobel Awards honoring the favorite in Indonesian television programming/production work/individual, was held on March 27, 2012, at the Djakarta Theater XXI in Jalan M.H. Thamrin, Menteng, Central Jakarta. Both of presenter Choky Sitohang and Fenita Arie was hosting for the ceremony awards. The 2012 edition of the Panasonic Gobel Awards was themed for "Yang Muda Yang Menginspirasi".

Wishnutama Kusubandio is a former Indonesian journalist. He was co-founder and CEO of NET. Mediatama Television, from founding on 18 May 2013 until his resignation on 22 October 2019. He served as Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy under Joko Widodo between 23 October 2019 and 22 December 2020.

The SCTV Awards are annual Indonesian awards that are presented by SCTV, which recognize popularity in the television industry, and which correspond to the SCTV Music Awards. The annual show was first held on August 24, 2001, SCTV's 11th anniversary. Until 2009, SCTV Awards held every August to celebrate SCTV's anniversary.
