The Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (PLC SUPVA) is a public university in Rohtak, India. It was established in 2011 by the department of Technical Education. The university is a joint campus of four institutions: State Institute of Film and Television, State Institute of Design, State Institute of Fine Arts and State Institute of Urban Planning and Architecture.
The PLC SUPVA campus is spread over 36 acres of land, designed by architect Raj Rewal. It is centrally located in the state of Haryana, at a distance of about 75 kms from New Delhi. Central facilities like the auditorium, seminar halls, central library, etc. are available for academics and extra-curricular activities. A girls’ hostel with a capacity of 175 students is already available in the campus. Housing facility for both faculty and non-teaching staff is also available. [1]
Panjab University (PU) is an Indian collegiate public state university located in Chandigarh. Funded through both State and Union governments, it is considered a state university. It traces its origins to the University of the Punjab in Lahore, which was founded in 1882. After the partition of India, the university was established on 1 October 1947, and called East Punjab University. Initially housed primarily at a cantonment in Solan, it later relocated to a newly built campus in Chandigarh, and was renamed Panjab University. It is accredited by NAAC at five star level, with the highest NAAC A++ accreditation grade.

Saang, also known as Swang or Svang (स्वांग), is a popular folk dance–theatre form in Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. Swang incorporates suitable theatrics and mimicry accompanied by song and dialogue. It is dialogue-oriented rather than movement-oriented. Religious stories and folk tales are enacted by a group of ten or twelve persons in an open area or an open-air theatre surrounded by the audience. Swang as an art of imitation means Rang-Bharna, Naqal-Karna.
Rohtak is a city and the administrative headquarters of the Rohtak district in the Indian state of Haryana. It lies 70 kilometres (43 mi) north-west of New Delhi and 250 kilometres (160 mi) south of the state capital Chandigarh on NH 9. He has been accorded the honor of the 'Surya Har' of Haryanvi music genre Raagni and Saang. He is popularly referred to as 'Dada Lakhmi Chand'. His work is filled with songs containing messages on moral values, which earned him respect in all corners of Haryana.

The State Institute of Film and Television (SIFTV) is a Film School under the State University of Performing And Visual Arts located in Rohtak, Haryana, India. The institute was established in 2011 by the Government of Haryana to grow regional cinema.
D. S. Kapoor is an Indian art historian and educator. He completed a bachelor of arts degree at Government College of Arts, Chandigarh (GCA) and began a career as a commercial artist. Later, he moved to art education, teaching at St. John's School. In 1990, he became a faculty member of the GCA, and served as the acting principal of the college from 2009 to 2012. After his retirement, he was appointed the dean of the Pandit Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts, and then as an Officer on Special Duty at the National Institute of Design, Kurukshetra.
