Holland started Pantsuit Politics with the aim of spotlighting women working in politics. [2] [11] Holland and Silvers' collaboration began with political discussions on Holland's blog. [5] [12]
In November 2015, they released their inaugural episode, [11] [13] introducing themselves as "Sarah from the Left" and "Beth from the Right", signaling the podcast’s early emphasis on cross-ideological conversation.
Silvers changed her voter registration following the Republican Party's endorsement of Trump. [2] [6] Following Silvers' departure from the Republican Party, Holland's and Silvers' political views became more aligned. They modified their opening line to "the home of grace-filled political conversations." [14]
They co-hosted a second podcast, The Nuanced Life, from 2017 to 2020. [7] In 2019, Holland and Silvers delivered keynote speeches at the Nebraska Women's Leadership Network Conference. [11] They also made an appearance on an episode of Morning Joe in April 2019. [15]

In 2019, Holland and Silvers authored a book titled "I Think You're Wrong (But I'm Listening): A Guide to Grace-Filled Political Conversation," which was published by Thomas Nelson. [5] [2] [19] The book outlines the hosts’ approach to civil political discourse. [5] [20] Silvers and Holland aimed to translate their podcast's conversational style into a practical approach within the book. [9]
In May 2022, Holland and Silvers published their second book, "Now What? How to Move Forward When We're Divided (About Basically Everything)," released by Revell Publishing. [21] This book focuses on "engaging readers in discovering how we can create a better world together." [10]
