Paracleros is a genus of skippers in the family Hesperiidae. They are generally found in the continent of Africa.
The Pterophoridae or plume moths are a family of Lepidoptera with unusually modified wings. Though they belong to the Apoditrysia like the larger moths and the butterflies, unlike these they are tiny and were formerly included among the assemblage called "microlepidoptera".
Tineidae is a family of moths in the order Lepidoptera described by Pierre André Latreille in 1810. Collectively, they are known as fungus moths or tineid moths. The family contains considerably more than 3,000 species in more than 300 genera. Most of the tineid moths are small or medium-sized, with wings held roofwise over the body when at rest. They are particularly common in the Palaearctic, but many occur elsewhere, and some are found very widely as introduced species.
Notodontidae is a family of moths with approximately 3,800 known species. The family was described by James Francis Stephens in 1829. Moths of this family are found in all parts of the world, but they are most concentrated in tropical areas, especially in the New World.
The Lymantriinae are a subfamily of moths of the family Erebidae. The taxon was erected by George Hampson in 1893.
The Geometroidea are the superfamily of geometrid moths in the order Lepidoptera. It includes the families Geometridae, Uraniidae, Epicopeiidae, Sematuridae, and Pseudobistonidae. The Geomeatroidia superfamily has more than 24,000 described species, making them one of the largest superfamilies inside the order Lepidoptera. The monotypic genus Apoprogones was considered a separate geometroid family of the Apoprogonidae by a minority, but is now subsumed under the Sematuridae.
Coleophora is a very large genus of moths of the family Coleophoridae. It contains some 1,350 described species. The genus is represented on all continents, but the majority are found in the Nearctic and Palaearctic regions. Many authors have tried splitting the genus into numerous smaller ones, but most of these have not become widely accepted.
Eupterotidae is a family of insects in the order Lepidoptera with more than 300 described species.
Roeslerstammiidae is a family of insects in the order Lepidoptera. The family arose from the taxonomic uncertainty of the genus Roeslerstammia Zeller, 1839, which was assigned to different families. The genus Roeslerstammia was removed from the Yponomeutidae Stephens, 1829, and placed in the Amphitheridae Meyrick, 1913, which in consequence became a junior synonym of Roeslerstammiidae. Consequently, Roeslerstammiidae comprises the Palearctic genus Roeslerstammia, as well as the Oriental and Australasian genera that form part of the Amphitheridae.
The Sparganothini are a tribe of tortrix moths.
The Thyatirinae, or false owlet moths, are a subfamily of the moth family Drepanidae with about 200 species described. Until recently, most classifications treated this group as a separate family called Thyatiridae.
The Euliini are a tribe of tortrix moths.
The Erionotini are a tribe of skipper butterflies in the subfamily Hesperiinae.
Paracleros biguttulus, the common dusky dart, is a butterfly in the family Hesperiidae. It is found in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, western Kenya, western Tanzania and Zambia. The habitat consists of forests.
Paracleros maesseni, Maessen's dusky dart, is a butterfly in the family Hesperiidae. It is found in Ghana and Nigeria.
Paracleros placidus, the western dusky dart, is a butterfly in the family Hesperiidae. It is found in Ivory Coast and Ghana. The habitat consists of grassy, shady areas in forests.
Paracleros sangoanus is a butterfly in the family Hesperiidae. It is found in Uganda and north-western Tanzania. The habitat consists of forests.
Paracleros staudei is a butterfly in the family Hesperiidae. It is found in western Kenya. The habitat consists of forests.
Paracleros substrigata, Berger's dusky dart, is a butterfly in the family Hesperiidae. It is found in Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and western Tanzania. The habitat consists of forests.
The Metarbelidae are a family of the Cossoidea also called the carpenter or goat moths, and is sometimes treated as a subfamily, Metarbelinae of the Cossidae. No synapomorphies are shared with the Cossidae based on adult morphology. The family Metarbelidae was first described by Embrik Strand in 1909.
