The Parliamentary Select Committees of Malaysia are sub-legislative bodies each consisting of small number of Members of Parliament (MPs) from the House of Representatives, or senators from the Senate, or a mix of both appointed to deal with particular areas or issues; most are made up of members of the Representatives. appointed to deal with particular areas or issues. The majority of parliamentary committees are Select committees. It was first announced in August 2018 by Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof, Speaker of the House of Representatives, that six new parliamentary select committees will be established, [1] before later announcing in April 2019 a massive reformation of the Malaysian parliamentary institution with a further planned eleven new select committees, each focusing on particular ministries or governmental agencies. [2] Prior to the 14th session of parliament, only five permanent and two temporary committees had been in operation. [1] The remit of these committees vary depending on whether they are committees of the House of Representatives or the Senate.

Latheefa Beebi Koya, often called Kak Lat, is a Malaysian politician, lawyer and human rights activist who was the fifth Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) from June 2019 to March 2020. She was a member of the People's Justice Party (PKR) and sat on the central executive committee of PKR. She is the first woman and non-malay to assume office as chief-commissioner.

The Electoral Reform Select Committee is one of many select committees of the Malaysian House of Representatives, which study the matters related to the election process in Malaysia. It was first announced by Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof in April 2019 that a new select committee for electoral reform was to be set up. However, it is noted that an electoral reform select committee previously existed between October 2011 and April 2012. Unlike the yet-to-be-confirmed select committee, the temporary committee was not designed to study bills.

The Select Committee On Lynas Advanced Materials Plant (LAMP) was a select committee of the Malaysian House of Representatives, which studied issues raised by the public regarding safety standards of the Lynas Advanced Materials Plant (LAMP) in Kuantan, Pahang.
