Harish Parvathaneni is an Indian diplomat who is serving as Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations since 1 September 2024. A 1990 batch of Indian Foreign Service,he served as ambassador to Germany from 2021 until 2024 and to Vietnam from 2016 till 2019.
Harish graduated as a gold medalist in mechanical engineering at Osmania University College of Engineering in Hyderabad and previously studied at the Indian Institute of Management in Kolkata. [1] He also studied Arabic at the American University of Cairo and passed the exam with distinction. [2]
Harish joined as Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer since 1990. [3] He worked in Indian Embassay in Cairo (Egypt) and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia),and was India’s representative to the Palestinian Authority. He also worked for the Ministry of External Affairs's East Asia and External Publicity divisions. [4]
Harish served as joint secretary and officer on special duty to India's Vice President Hamid Ansari for five years,beginning in 2007. [5] He served as India's consular general of United States in Houston from July 2012 till March 2016. Harish was India's ambassador to Vietnam between April 2016 until June 2019. Most recently,Harish served as India’s ambassador to Germany. [6]
Tawfeeq Ahmed Khalil Almansoor is a Bahraini diplomat. He served as the permanent Ambassador to the United Nations for Bahrain from 2003 to 2011.
