Gérard Xavier Marcel Depardieu is a French actor, known to be one of the most prolific in film history. He has completed over 250 films since 1967, almost exclusively as a lead. Depardieu has worked with over 150 film directors whose most notable collaborations include Jean-Luc Godard, François Truffaut, Maurice Pialat, Alain Resnais, Claude Chabrol, Ridley Scott and Bernardo Bertolucci. He is the second highest-grossing actor in the history of French cinema behind Louis de Funès. Pierre Blanchar was a French actor. He appeared in more than 50 films between 1922 and 1961. Blanchar was married to actress Marthe Vinot, with whom he had a daughter, actress Dominique Blanchar. He played Napoleon in the 1938 British film A Royal Divorce alongside Ruth Chatterton as Josephine. He later appeared alongside Michèle Morgan in the 1946 film Pastoral Symphony.

L'Amour braque is a 1985 French romantic drama film directed by Andrzej Żuławski and starring Sophie Marceau, Francis Huster, and Tchéky Karyo. The film is about a bank robber on his way to Paris who meets a neurotic dreamer whom he considers to be an idiot. The dreamer follows him everywhere and soon falls in love with his girlfriend, resulting in a tragic ending. The film is loosely inspired by Fyodor Dostoevsky's 1869 novel The Idiot. The film received a Fantasporto International Fantasy Film Award Nomination for Best Film in 1986.
