Pemphigus (Pemphigus) matsumurai is a species of gall-forming aphid, in the subgenus, Pemphigus, of the genus, Pemphigus . [1] [2] It was first described in 1927 by the Japanese entomologist, Kota Monzen. [2] [3] Some authorities consider it a synonym of Pemphigus (Pemphigus) niishimae . [1] Others do not. [4] [5] The species epithet, mutsumurai, honours the Japanese entomologist, Shōnen Matsumura.
It is found on the Korean Peninsula, [4] in Japan, [6] [3] China, [6] [7] [8] Siberia, [2] and possibly elsewhere.
