She began on her musical career as a member of the R&B girl group Sista during the 1990s, who were part of the larger musical collective Swing Mob—led by DeVante Swing of Jodeci. The former group's commercially unsuccessful debut album, 4 All the Sistas Around da World (1994), was released by Elektra Records and met with positive critical reception. She collaborated with album's producer and Swing Mob cohort Timbaland to work in songwriting and production for other acts, yielding commercially successful releases for 702, Aaliyah, SWV, and Total. "The Roof (Back in Time)" is a song by American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey, taken from her sixth studio album, Butterfly (1997). Columbia Records released it in Europe as the album's fourth single on March 16, 1998. The song was written and produced by Carey and Trackmasters, and is built around a sample from "Shook Ones (Part II)" (1995) by American hip hop duo Mobb Deep. The song's lyrics recount an intimate roof-top encounter between lovers, and how the memory affects the protagonist. The extended remix features a rap verse by Mobb Deep; both versions were praised by contemporary music critics.
"There's Got to Be a Way" is a song recorded by American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey for her eponymous debut studio album (1990). Columbia Records released it as the fifth and final single from the album in the United Kingdom and several European countries on May 20, 1991. The song became a minor hit in the UK as well as becoming a minor hit in many European countries. A five-track digital extended play containing remixes of the song was released in July 2020 as part of the 30th-anniversary celebrations of her debut album.
Emily Jordan Bear is an American composer, pianist, songwriter and singer. After beginning to play the piano and compose music as a small child, Bear made her professional piano debut at the Ravinia Festival at the age of five, the youngest performer ever to play there. She gained wider notice from a series of appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show beginning at the age of six. She has since played her own compositions and other works with orchestras and ensembles in North America, Europe and Asia, including appearances at Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, the Montreux Jazz Festival and Jazz Open Stuttgart. She won two Morton Gould Young Composer Awards, the youngest person ever to win the award, and also won two Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composers Awards.
Noisia was a Dutch electronic music trio consisting of members Nik Roos, Martijn van Sonderen, and Thijs de Vlieger from Groningen, Netherlands. They produced a wide variety of music including drum and bass, dubstep, breakbeat and house. They released music under labels including Skrillex's Owsla, deadmau5's mau5trap and Jay-Z's Roc Nation. Noisia previously combined with the group Foreign Beggars to form the supergroup side project, I Am Legion. They released their collaborative self-titled album on 2 September 2013. Noisia also has production credits under the pseudonym Nightwatch, such as when they worked with Alexis Jordan, Hadouken!, Wiley and Wretch 32. They produced Hadouken!'s album, For the Masses, that charted at number 19 on the UK Albums Chart.

Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites is the second extended play (EP) by American electronic music producer Skrillex. It was released exclusively through Beatport on October 22, 2010, through mau5trap and Big Beat Records, while being released on December 20 for digital download via other online retailers and on March 1, 2011, as a physical release. It was recorded in 2010 at Skrillex's apartment using a laptop. The EP features guest contributions from Pennybirdrabbit, Foreign Beggars and Bare Noize as well as remixes done by Noisia, Zedd and Bare Noize. It won two Grammys at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards: one for Best Dance Recording, and another for Best Dance/Electronica Album.
More Monsters and Sprites is the third EP and first remix album by American electronic music producer Skrillex. It was released exclusively on Beatport on June 7, 2011 through Big Beat Records and mau5trap Recordings, while being released on other online retailers on June 21, 2011. It is a follow-up to his previous EP, Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites, containing four additional remixes of the title track done by Dirtyphonics, Phonat, The Juggernauts and Kaskade, as well as three original tracks. The iTunes version also includes a music video of "Rock n' Roll ". Musically, More Monsters and Sprites uses prominent elements of dubstep, while also featuring technical breakdowns and influences of reggae within the first track.

A music video directed by Tony Truand, produced by HK Corp, premiered on August 10, 2011, and was nominated at the 54th Grammy Awards for Best Short Form Music Video. The music video was nominated for the MTV Video Music Award for Best Electronic Dance Music Video and it won the award for Best Visual Effects in a Video at 2012 MTV Video Music Awards.
Sonny John Moore, known professionally as Skrillex, is an American DJ, record producer, and singer. Growing up in Northeast Los Angeles and Northern California, he joined the post-hardcore band From First to Last as its lead vocalist in 2004, and recorded two studio albums with the band—Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Bodycount (2004) and Heroine in (2006)—before leaving to pursue a solo career in 2007. He began his first tour as a solo artist in late 2007. After recruiting a new band lineup, Moore joined the Alternative Press Tour to support bands such as All Time Low and the Rocket Summer, and appeared on the cover of Alternative Press's annual "100 Bands You Need to Know" issue.
Bangarang is the fourth EP by American electronic music producer Skrillex. It was released on December 23, 2011, via Beatport while being released on other digital retailers on December 27, 2011. It was released on January 24, 2012, as a physical CD. It was announced via Skrillex's Twitter page on December 12, 2011, that the album was completed, while the release date was also announced on December 21. The record is mostly a collection of songs that have been previously performed during The Mothership Tour. It features collaborations with the Doors, Sirah, Wolfgang Gartner, 12th Planet, Kill the Noise and Ellie Goulding. Musically, Bangarang has multiple influences of electro, dubstep and techno, while also incorporating elements of eurodance, drum and bass, rap rock, experimental rock and ska. It features syncopated rhythmic build-ups, technical breakdowns and "chopped-up" vocal hooks, as well as multiple vocal samples. An orchestral song was also featured as a bonus track on the iTunes edition.
Peder Losnegård, better known by his stage name Lido, is a Norwegian musician, record producer, singer, and songwriter. He produced "Same Drugs" and "Angels" on Chance the Rapper's Coloring Book. He is known for his extensive work with Halsey, executive producing her debut Badlands, as well as co-writing and producing several songs on Hopeless Fountain Kingdom and Manic. Lido has also notably produced for Ella Mai, Jaden Smith, Ariana Grande, Mariah Carey, A$AP Ferg, Smino, and BANKS, among others.

Spitfire is the debut extended play (EP) by American electronic music producer Porter Robinson, released on September 13, 2011, through Owsla. After releasing his 2010 single "Say My Name", Robinson expressed desire to explore different musical genres by producing an EP, diverging from his traditional eurodance style. Spanning a range of genres, Spitfire marked the inaugural release on Owsla and caused Beatport to crash following its promotion by musicians Skrillex and Tiësto. The EP charted at UK Dance Albums, Dance/Electronic Albums and Heatseekers Albums, with Robinson subsequently embarking on a tour to promote it. Songs "The State" and "Unison" received particular attention for their libertarian themes and use in DJ sets, respectively.
Leaving is the sixth extended play (EP) by American electronic dance music producer Skrillex. It was released on February 5, 2013 exclusively to members of The Nest. The three tracks were also uploaded to Moore's official YouTube channel the following day. The song "Scary Bolly Dub" had previously been played live and circulated through the Internet for approximately a year before being officially released. A mixed version also features on Caspa Presents Dubstep Sessions 2012. The song samples the 2010 tracks "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites" and "Fucking Die 1". In a personal message to members of The Nest, Moore said that he uses the track "more as a DJ tool, but I wanted you guys to have it". The title track was created in Moore's hotel room in Mexico. "The Reason" was finished an hour before release in Moore's hotel room in Miami. "The Reason" has received significant attention and airplay in Australia, mostly on youth radio station Triple J.
Neck Deep are a Welsh pop-punk band from Wrexham, formed in 2012. They released a pair of EPs, Rain in July (2012) and A History of Bad Decisions (2013), before signing with Hopeless in August 2013.
Victoria Monét McCants is an American singer and songwriter. First gaining recognition for her songwriting work, Monét pursued a recording career with the release of a series of extended plays (EPs); her fifth, Jaguar (2020) was met with critical acclaim. Her debut studio album, Jaguar II (2023) became her commercial breakthrough and was supported by the hit single, "On My Mama", which peaked within the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 and earned a Grammy Award nomination for Record of the Year. The Rarities is the eighth compilation album by American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey, released on October 2, 2020, by Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings. The album coincided with Carey's 2020 memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey, which discussed various songs on the albums, their meanings and stories. The album was released as a part of "#MC30", a promotional marking campaign which marked the 30th anniversary of Carey's self-titled debut album.
