People's Artist of Albania

People's Artist of Albania was an honorary title for outstanding art performers of People's Socialist Republic of Albania, whose merits were exceptional in the sphere of development of the performing arts (theatre, music, cinema and art). It was created by law in 1960 and amended in 1980. The title was no longer given in Albania after the law was amended in 1996. The equivalent of it became the "Grand Master of Work" title, that was also substituted with the "Grand Master" title after the 2001's amendment of the 1996 law. [1]

Albania, officially as the People's Socialist Republic of Albania, was ruled by a Marxist-Leninist government from 1946 to 1992. From 1944 to 1946, it was known as the Democratic Government of Albania and from 1946 to 1976 as the People's Republic of Albania.

Theatre Collaborative form of performing art

Theatre or theater is a collaborative form of performing art that uses live performers, typically actors or actresses, to present the experience of a real or imagined event before a live audience in a specific place, often a stage. The performers may communicate this experience to the audience through combinations of gesture, speech, song, music, and dance. Normally, a person was named the People's Artist after 40 years of age. Exception was made for ballet artists.

Kadri Roshi Famous Albanian Actor

Kadri Roshi was a film and theater actor. He worked in more than 30 films in Albania. He is considered as one the most talented Albanian actors. He was named a People's Artist of Albania.

Margarita Xhepa is an Albanian stage and film actress. She began her career in Tirana, at the National Theatre. There she acted in plays by Anton Chekov, Friedrich Schiller, and Nikolai Gogol, among others. She has presented the first Festivali i Këngës in 1962.

Cinematographers

Dhimitër Anagnosti is an Albanian film director of the 20th century. He was a member of the Parliament of Albania in the 1990s and a Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. For his contribution in film, he received the People's Artist of Albania medal. In 2011, former president Bamir Topi accredited him the "Honor of the Nation" order, Albanian: Urdhri "Nderi i Kombit".

Kristaq Dhamo is an Albanian actor and film director. He was awarded with the People's Artist of Albania medal. His 1958 film Tana was entered into the 1st Moscow International Film Festival.

Kujtim Çashku Albanian filmmaker

Kujtim Çashku is an Albanian film director and screenwriter who has won numerous awards at international film festivals, including the Critics Prize at the 1996 Bastia Mediterranean Film Festival and the UNESCO Award at the 1998 Venice Film Festival for Colonel Bunker, the Best Screenplay Award, the FIRESCI Prize and the Silver Pyramid at the 2005 Cairo International Film Festival as well as the Bronze Palm at the Valencia Festival of Mediterranean Cinema for The Magic Eye, and the CEI Award at the Trieste Film Festival for his "brave commitment to the development of Albanian cinema". He is the founder and director of Tirana's Marubi Film & Multimedia School, the first film university in Albania, as well as the supervisor of OraFilm, Albania's first film production company, and founder-organizer of Albania's first Human Rights Film Festival (IHRFFA).

Singers

Avni Mula is an Albanian singer, composer and musician. For his contribution, he has received some of the highest recognition medals from the Albanian government, the People's Artist of Albania decoration and the Honor of the Nation decoration.

Ibrahim Tukiqi, also referred as Ibrahim Tukiçi, was a well-known Albanian singer. He was born in Shkodër, Albania. He studied for canto in the Tchaikovsky Conservatory and graduated in 1957. After finishing the studies in 1957 he got a job at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Albania.

Inva Mula singer

Inva Mula is an Albanian opera lyric soprano. She began her soprano career at a very early age. Her father and mother were also opera singers. She is also known for providing the voice of the diva Plavalaguna in the film The Fifth Element.

Music directors and composers

Mustafa Krantja was an Albanian classical music conductor and composer. He has written about 20 major works. Krantja was awarded the People's Artist award in 1956 and the Dvorak Medal in 1975.

Nikolla Zoraqi was an Albanian composer. His works included movie music and operas, notably Cuca e maleve.

Abdurrahim Buza (1905–1987) was an Albanian painter.

Sadik Kaceli Albanian painter

Sadik Kaceli was an Albanian painter. He studied in Paris at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts (1936–1941). Kaceli was one of Albania's best known painters. He was awarded with the People's Artist of Albania and the Honour Citizen of Tirana medal. He created the first series of the Albanian lek. In 1994 he received the People's Artist of Albania through Sali Berisha. In 2016 Sadik Kaceli was given the Honor of Nation Order. He is one of the founders of National Art Gallery of Albania, designed the first version of the Albanian lek, made the People's Republic of Albania Coat of Arms.

Odhise Paskali Albanian artist

Odhise Paskali is one of the most acclaimed Albanian sculptors. For his contribution, he was awarded the People's Artist of Albania award.

Festivali i Këngës 47 took place at the Palace of Congresses in Tirana, Albania. There were two semifinals and a final with 20 entrants competing. The winner was determined by a jury of 7 judges. The RTSH orchestra was present, but the option of playback was available to the performers. The director was Pali Kuke, and the artistic director was Pirro Çako.

General Directorate of Archives (Albania)

The General Directorate of Archives is the national archive of the Republic of Albania, located in Tirana. Under the former control of the Party of Labour of Albania, the archives houses the papers of the former People's Socialist Republic of Albania, and papers that were held by citizens prior to the regime. Completely modernized to archival standards as of 2004, with help from the Swiss Federal Archives, the archives also houses the Codex Beratinus and the Codex Beratinus II.

Gaqo Paze was the first Permanent Representative of Albania to the United Nations, in New York. He served from 1955 to 1958.

The Nation's Honor Order is the highest decoration to be given in Albania, among the Civil awards and decorations of Albania, and was instituted by special law Nr.8113, of 28 March 1996, entitled Per dekoratat ne Republiken e Shqiperise English: On decorations in the Republic of Albania, then amended by law Nr. 112/2013 Per dekoratat, titujt e nderit, medaljet dhe titujt vendore te nderit ne republiken e Shqiperise.

HIDAACI (Albania)

The High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit of Assets and Conflicts of Interest (HIDAACI) is a government agency in Albania under the supervision of the Inspector General. The task of the agency is to administer the audit of the declaration of assets of public individuals.

Gaqo Çako was an Albanian operatic tenor, awarded with the People's Artist of Albania title. He has been ranked among the best opera singers of Albania, along with Ramiz Kovaçi and Mentor Xhemali.

The Jordan Misja Artistic Lyceum is an artistic school in Tirana, Albania, for youth from 6 to 18 years old. Established in 1946, it included music, ballet, dramatic arts, painting and sculpting classes. Today it offers integrated studies of general classes and arts,music,sculpture classes. Most Albanian professional artists are alumni of the school.
