Slovenia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 29 times since its debut in 1993, having hosted a qualification round in Ljubljana for seven countries due to the influx of new nations wishing to join the contest. The Slovenian participant broadcaster in the contest is Radiotelevizija Slovenija (RTVSLO).
The Sower, created in 1907, is an oil on canvas painting by the Slovene Impressionist painter and musician Ivan Grohar. It is an image of a peasant sowing seeds on a ploughed field in an early and foggy morning. A hayrack, typical of the Slovene landscape, stands in the back, and even farther, the rocks of the small hill Kamnitnik near Škofja Loka. It has been a metaphor for the 19th-century myth of Slovenes as a vigorous nation in front of an unclear destiny, a symbol for the Slovene nation that sows in order that it could harvest, and a depiction of human interrelatedness with the nature. It is also a reflection of the context of Slovene transition from a rural to an urban culture. It has become one of the most characteristic and established Slovene creations in visual arts. It has been used by the IRWIN art group as well as the Semenarna Ljubljana seed company, and is depicted on the Slovenian 5 cent euro coin.

Slovenian broadcaster Radiotelevizija Slovenija organised the national final EMA 2007 in order to select the Slovenian entry for the 2007 contest in Helsinki, Finland. 24 entries competed in the national final which consisted of three shows: two semi-finals and a final. The top seven entries were selected to advance from each semi-final based on a public televote. Fourteen entries qualified to compete in the final where the winner was selected over two rounds of public televoting. In the first round, the top two entries were selected. In the second round, "Cvet z juga" performed by Alenka Gotar was selected as the winner entirely by a public televote.
Alenka Gotar is a Slovene soprano singer, born in Rodica in 1977. With the song "Cvet z juga", she represented Slovenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki, Finland. Achieving seventh place in the semi-final, she became the first Slovene to qualify to the grand final, where she ended fifteenth with 66 points.

Martina Majerle is a Croatian singer of mixed Croatian and Slovenian descent. Majerle represented Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, Russia with the string quartet Quartissimo with the song "Love Symphony". It competed in the second semi-final but failed to reach the final. Martina has also been a backing vocalist for several countries in various editions of the contest.
The Slovenian Hockey Hall of Fame honors the contributions that individuals have made to the sport of hockey in Slovenia. It has opened in 2007, on the 80th anniversary of ice-hockey in Slovenia and 15th anniversary of Slovenia national ice hockey team, by the Ice Hockey Federation of Slovenia. The Party of Alenka Bratušek was a political party in Slovenia. The party was formed from a split from Positive Slovenia in May 2014, and merged into the Freedom Movement in June 2022. The party participated in both the Bratušek and Šarec governments.

The 13th Government of Slovenia was elected on 13 September 2018 by the 8th National Assembly. It is the first minority government in the history of Slovenia. On 27 January 2020, following the resignation of the Minister of Finance Andrej Bertoncelj, Prime Minister Marjan Šarec announced his resignation. The National Assembly was informed on the same day following which the term of the 13th Government ended. Šarec is the third consecutive and in total fourth Prime Minister to resign, before him Miro Cerar, Alenka Bratušek and Janez Drnovšek resigned as well, the latter due to being elected President of the Republic. The 13th Government is the fifth consecutive and eighth government in total to not finish its term.
