<span class="mw-page-title-main">2004 Slovenian parliamentary election</span>

Parliamentary elections were held in Slovenia on Sunday, 3 October 2004 to elect the 90 deputies of the National Assembly. A total of 1,390 male and female candidates ran in the election, organized into 155 lists. The lists were compiled both by official political parties and the groups of voters not registered as political parties. Five candidates applied for the seat of the representative of the Hungarian "national community" and only one candidate applied for the seat of the representative of the Italian national community. In the previous election (2000), fewer than 1000 candidates on 155 lists applied.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">League of Communists of Slovenia</span> Political party in Slovenia

The League of Communists of Slovenia was the Slovenian branch of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia, the sole legal party of Yugoslavia from 1945 to 1989. It was established in April 1937 as the Communist Party of Slovenia, as the first autonomous sub-national branch of the Yugoslav Communist Party. Its initial autonomy was further amplified with the Yugoslav constitution of 1974, which devolved greater power to the various republic level branches.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Oton Župančič</span>

Oton Župančič was a Slovene poet, translator, and playwright. He is regarded, alongside Ivan Cankar, Dragotin Kette and Josip Murn, as the beginner of modernism in Slovene literature. In the period following World War I, Župančič was frequently regarded as the greatest Slovenian poet after Prešeren, but in the last forty years his influence has been declining and his poetry has lost much of its initial appeal.

Ivan Tavčar was a Slovenian writer, lawyer, and politician.

Sodobnost is a Slovenian literary and cultural magazine, established in 1933. It is considered the oldest of currently existing literary magazines in Slovenia. Although Sodobnost has traditionally been a magazine focused on cultural and literary issues, it nowadays covers a wide range of current affairs. It is part of the Eurozine editorial project.

The Slovenian Hockey Hall of Fame honors the contributions that individuals have made to the sport of hockey in Slovenia. It has opened in 2007, on the 80th anniversary of ice-hockey in Slovenia and 15th anniversary of Slovenia national ice hockey team, by the Ice Hockey Federation of Slovenia. In November 2012 11 new members were added as class of 2012 and 23 as class of 2008.

The Tomb of National Heroes in Ljubljana, Slovenia is a tomb and a monument for the national heroes of the World War II resistance struggle in Slovenia, created in 1949. The designers of the tomb and the monument were the architect Edo Mihevc and the sculptor Boris Kalin. It stands next to Šubic Street, at the southern side of National Heroes Square, west of the National Assembly Building. It has been protected as a cultural monument of local significance.

The International Festival of Computer Arts is the longest-running computer arts festival in Slovenia. IFCA presents theory and practices of computer arts and new media arts. It is one of the major institutions for the presentation, support and production of computer media, electronics, and interdisciplinary art in the region and is responsible for the development of new media art and theory.
