The Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia is a liberal political party in Malaysia. Formed in 1968, Gerakan gained prominence in the 1969 general election when it defeated the ruling Alliance Party in Penang and won the majority of seats in Penang's state legislature. In 1972, Gerakan joined the Alliance Party, which later became Barisan Nasional coalition Party (BN), the ruling coalition of Malaysia until 2018. The party left the BN in 2018 and is currently part of the Perikatan Nasional coalition Party (PN).
Singapore participated at the 2005 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines under the IOC country code SIN. Sending a delegation of 658 athletes and 291 officials, the third largest it had ever sent to the games, the Singapore team set its target at 35 gold medals, five more than the haul won at the 2003 Southeast Asian Games held in Vietnam.

The Order of Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah is an obsolete order of chivalry conferred by the Sultan of Selangor as a reward for general services to the sultan and state of Selangor during the reigning of the late Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Al-Haj. It was established by the late Sultan on 30 September 1985 and it became obsolete following his demise on 21 November 2001. The order was awarded to high-ranking individuals who have contributed excellence to the Sultan of Selangor and His Majesty's Government.
The Order of the Defender of State is the sole order of chivalry of the state of Penang which was constituted in 1967 by then Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Dato' Seri Utama Raja Uda Raja Muhammad to recognize eminent contributions of individuals towards Penang and the nation. The order was initially constituted in three grades of Knight Grand Commander, Companion, and Member. Later, other grades were added to the order. Currently, the order is conferred in six grades.
