Lea Sirk (born 1 September 1989) is a Slovenian singer, who represented her country in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2018. [2]
She started her musical education at the age of five in Koper, Slovenia. [3] Between 2001 and 2007, Lea participated at numerous national and international competitions, where she regularly finished amongst the top positions. Lea finished her secondary school while studying the concert flute.[ citation needed ]
Lea studied at the Conservatory of Music in Geneva and has played in various orchestras and participated in different seminars across Europe. Lea Sirk completed her undergraduate studies early and with honours. She also finished her master studies with honours two years later and became a Master of Arts in Specialised Music Performance.[ citation needed ]
During her studies, Lea Sirk also established herself as a singer. In 2005, Lea received the award for the most promising young singer at the International Music Competition Cologne.[ citation needed ]
She began participating regularly at various festivals, as well as EMA, the Slovenian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest (2009, 2010). Her participation in the show Znan obraz ima svoj glas (Your Face Sounds Familiar) left an indelible mark on viewers, as Lea was the most convincing through her transformations into famous world performers, including the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest winner, Salvador Sobral.[ citation needed ]
As a backing vocalist, Lea already performed already at the Eurovision Song Contest, namely in 2014 in Copenhagen with Tinkara Kovač. Lea is also a studio musician and music arranger and has performed on numerous grand stages and recorded with numerous Slovene musicians.[ citation needed ]
Lea, a mother of two girls, has been building her solo singing career in parallel with her other responsibilities. She won at EMA 2018 where she became the Slovene representative at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest with her song " Hvala, ne! ", [4] which she wrote alongside Tomy DeClerque.[ citation needed ]
In April 2023, Lea was revealed as singer of the English version of "Interstellar Journey", the official release theme song of the game Honkai: Star Rail. [5]

Karmen Stavec is a Slovene musician and pop singer.
Slovenia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 28 times since its debut in 1993, having hosted a qualification round in Ljubljana for seven countries due to the influx of new nations wishing to join the Eurovision Song Contest. Having only missed the event twice in 1994 and 2000 due to the relegation rule after a poor average score in the 1990s, Slovenia's best result is seventh position achieved on two occasions; in 1995 with "Prisluhni mi" performed by Darja Švajger and in 2001 with Nuša Derenda and "Energy". Since the introduction of the semi-finals in 2004, Slovenia has qualified for the final on seven occasions. As of 2023, Slovenia has not made it to the top ten since their seventh place finish in 2001, only making it to the thirteenth position in 2002 and 2011.

The participation of Slovenia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest first began at the twelfth edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2014 which took place in Marsa, Malta. Radiotelevizija Slovenija (RTVSLO), a member organisation of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), were responsible for the selection process of their participation. Slovenia originally used an internal selection format for their participation at the 2014 contest. The first representative to participate for the nation at the 2014 contest was Ula Ložar with the song "Nisi sam ", which finished in twelfth place out of sixteen participating entries, achieving a score of twenty-nine points. Slovenia participated for a second time at the 2015 contest in Sofia, Bulgaria. This time, RTVSLO organised a children's spin-off of their Eurovision national final EMA to select their entry. Lina Kuduzović represented the nation with the song "Prva ljubezen". She finished in third place overall, achieving Slovenia's highest placing in both the adult and junior Eurovision Song Contest. Slovenia withdrew from the contest in 2016, citing that the decision was made based on changes to the contest rules by the EBU, although not specifying which rule changes influenced their decision to withdraw from the competition. Despite originally expressing an interest to return to the 2022 contest in Yerevan, Armenia, the plans did not flourish and Slovenia is yet to return to the event.

Nika Zorjan is a Slovenian singer and songwriter. Zorjan began her music career in 2010 as a contestant on the first season of Slovenija ima talent, the Slovenian version of Got Talent, later signing with Raay Music, the record label of Slovene duo Maraaya.
