People's Party – Reformists (Croatian : Narodna stranka – Reformisti or NS-R), also known just as the Reformists (Croatian : Reformisti) is a liberal political party in Croatia. [3]
The civil initiative for the establishment of the party was launched by former Croatian People's Party – Liberal Democrats (HNS) chief Radimir Čačić and his associates Natalija Martinčević and Petar Baranović. More than two-thirds of the party members are former members of the HNS which left the party because of disagreements with its leadership over the exclusion of Radimir Čačić from the party while he was serving a prison sentence for unintentionally causing a traffic accident with two fatalities.
According to the parties former acting president Natalija Martinčević, about 200 members from HNS Zagreb and Varaždin branches each have left the party in order to join the People's party - Reformists. [4]
The party's founding congress was held on September 28, 2014 in Zagreb. [5] Radimir Čačić was unanimously elected for the first party president. [6]
Ahead of the 2015 parliamentary election the party formed a coalition, "Successful Croatia", with the centre-left Forward Croatia-Progressive Alliance. [7] In the 2015 election, the party won one seat in the Croatian Parliament in the III electoral district, held by Radimir Čačić. Čačić voted in favor of approving Cabinet of Tihomir Orešković. Party participated at the 2016 extraordinary parliamentary election as part of the For Prime Minister Coalition led by Mayor of Zagreb Milan Bandić, and eventually won 1 seat. NS-R voted in favor of approving Cabinet of Andrej Plenković. At the 2017 local elections, Radimir Čačić was elected prefect of Varaždin County and Darinko Dumbović mayor of Petrinja. NS-R also entered many county, city, and municipal councils, mostly in Northern Croatia.

The Croatian People's Party – Liberal Democrats is a social-liberal political party in Croatia.
This article gives an overview of liberalism in Croatia. Liberals became active since 1860 in Dalmatia and since 1904 in the rest of Croatia. It never became a major political party. It is limited to liberal parties with substantial support, mainly proved by having had a representation in parliament. The sign ⇒ denotes another party in that scheme. For inclusion in this scheme it isn't necessary so that parties labeled themselves as a liberal party.
Radimir Čačić is a Croatian politician and businessman who has been President of the People's Party – Reformists (NS-R) since the party's formation in 2014, as well as Prefect of Varaždin County from 2017 to 2021.

Rivers of Justice is a centre-left political alliance in Croatia. Gathered around the Social Democratic Party of Croatia (SDP), the coalition was originally formed in 2010 as the Kukuriku coalition. This somewhat facetious name meaning 'cock-a-doodle-doo', taken from a restaurant of the same name in Kastav where the coalition leaders first convened in July 2009, became well known and was eventually taken as the coalition's official name. The coalition originally consisted of four centrist and centre-left parties in the Croatian Parliament: the Social Democratic Party of Croatia (SDP), Croatian People's Party – Liberal Democrats (HNS-LD), Croatian Party of Pensioners (HSU) and Istrian Democratic Assembly (IDS). The coalition won an absolute majority of seats in the 2011 parliamentary election and successfully formed a government led by Zoran Milanović (SDP).

Dragutin Lesar is a retired Croatian politician. Originally a union leader in the 1980s, he joined the liberal Croatian People's Party (HNS) in 1996. As member of HNS he was elected to the Croatian Parliament in the 2003 and 2007 general elections and served in the 5th and 6th Sabor. In April 2008 he resigned from HNS and continued to serve in the parliament as an independent. In April 2010 he founded the left wing Croatian Labourists – Labour Party (HL) and became their first party president.

A constitutional referendum was held in Croatia on 1 December 2013. The proposed amendment to the constitution would define marriage as being a union between a man and a woman, which would create a constitutional prohibition against same-sex marriage. 38% of eligible voters voted. After processing all of the ballots, the State Election Commission announced that 66% voted yes, 34% no, while and 1% of ballots were disregarded as invalid.

Parliamentary elections were held in Croatia on 5 July 2020. They were the tenth parliamentary elections since the first multi-party elections in 1990 and elected the 151 members of the Croatian Parliament. 140 Members of Parliament were elected from geographical electoral districts in Croatia, three MPs were chosen by the Croatian diaspora and eight MPs came from the ranks of citizens registered as belonging to any of the 22 constitutionally recognized national minorities.
Robert Podolnjak is a Croatian associate professor of constitutional law and politician who served as chairman of the Croatian Parliament's Committee on the Constitution, Standing Orders and Political System between January 2016 and June 2017. Between 2012 and 2016, she was Minister of Construction and Spatial Planning in the center-left cabinet of Zoran Milanović. Mrak-Taritaš is also president of the Civic Liberal Alliance party.
Predrag Štromar is a Croatian politician who served as Minister of Construction and Physical Planning and Deputy Prime Minister in the Government of Croatia from 2017 to 2020. He previously served as president of the Croatian People's Party from May to December 2020.
