Persatuan Sepakbola Indonesia Prabumulih (simply known as Persipra Prabumulih) is an Indonesian football club based in Prabumulih, South Sumatra. They currently compete in the Liga 4. [3]
Palembang is the capital city of the Indonesian province of South Sumatra. The city proper covers 352.51 square kilometres on both banks of the Musi River in the eastern lowlands of southern Sumatra. It had a population of 1,668,848 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 1,772,492. Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium, also known as Jakabaring Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium located in Jakabaring Sport City complex in Palembang, South Sumatra, Indonesia. Holding 23,000 spectators., the stadium is currently used mostly for football matches. The construction began in 2001 and finished in 2004 to host the 2004 Indonesia National Games. The stadium was initially named as Jakabaring stadium after the location of the stadium in southern outskirt of Palembang. However, later the stadium was renamed "Gelora Sriwijaya", to honor and celebrate the 7th—13th century Indonesian empire of Srivijaya. The Third Place Playoff of the 2007 AFC Asian Cup was held in this stadium. The football club Sriwijaya is based at the stadium.
Sriwijaya Football Club, commonly known as Sriwijaya FC or simply SFC, is an Indonesian professional football club based in Palembang, South Sumatra. The club competes in the Liga 2, the second tier of Indonesian football. Founded on 23 October 2004, the team play their home games at Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium, which has a capacity of 23,000 spectators. The club won its first major honour, the Liga Indonesia Premier Division, in 2008. In the same season the club also won the Copa Indonesia, making them the first and only club in Indonesia to ever achieve the double. Sriwijaya have a fierce rivalry with nearby club Semen Padang, with whom they contest the Andalas derby.
Prabumulih is a city in South Sumatra, Indonesia. It was originally part of Muara Enim Regency, from which it was separated to become an independent city on 21 June 2001. It has an area of 447.31 km² and had a population of 161,814 at the 2010 Census and 193,196 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2023 was 200,673. Geographically, this city is located at 3°25′58″S 104°14′8″E in the heart of the province, and it is surrounded on all sides by Muara Enim Regency, apart from a short stretch bordering Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Regency.
Muara Enim Regency is a regency of South Sumatra Province, Indonesia. The regency seat is the town of Muara Enim. The city of Prabumulih is an administrative body separating the main part of Muara Enim to the south of the city from a smaller part to its north. The regency until late 2012 covered an area of 8,587.94 km² and had a population of 717,717 at the 2010 Census; however, on 14 December 2012 five districts from the Muara Enim Regency were split off to form the new Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Regency.

Herman Deru is an Indonesian politician who served as the governor of South Sumatra between 2018 and 2023, and was formerly Regent of East Ogan Komering Ulu between 2005 and 2015.
Eddy Santana Putra is an Indonesian politician who is currently a member of the House of Representatives, and was the mayor of Palembang between 2003 and 2013. He was a member of PDI-P until 2018, when he moved to Gerindra. Originating from Pangkal Pinang, he was elected as mayor of Palembang through both a city council vote and direct popular vote.
Mahyuddin Natimbul Same'a was an Indonesian politician and academic who served as the vice governor of South Sumatra from 2003 to 2008 and as governor of South Sumatra in 2008. Following his five-month tenure as governor, Mahyuddin later served as a member of the People's Representative Council from 2009 to 2014.
