Education in the Netherlands is characterized by division: education is oriented toward the needs and background of the pupil. Education is divided over schools for different age groups, some of which are divided in streams for different educational levels. Schools are furthermore divided in public, special (religious), and general-special (neutral) schools, although there are also a few private schools. University College Roosevelt (UCR), formerly known as Roosevelt Academy (RA), is a small, honors undergraduate liberal arts and science college located in Middelburg in the Netherlands and the sole university in Zeeland. The Vereeniging voor Vrouwenkiesrecht was a women's rights organization active in the Netherlands from 1894 to 1919. It was devoted to women's suffrage. It was the main women's suffrage movement in the Netherlands. The Vereeniging changed its name in 1919 and would fuse with another association in 1930 and again in 1949 and still exists today.

The Nederlandse Vereniging voor Veganisme or NVV is a Dutch association which strives to promote the vegan lifestyle, and to end animal exploitation. The association was founded on 8 September 1978 in Arnhem as the Veganistenkring, the first organisation in the Netherlands of its kind. Shortly thereafter, its name was changed to Vereniging Veganisten Organisatie, finally adopting its present name in 1987.

The Universiteiten van Nederland (UNL) is, since November 2021, the new name of the Vereniging van Universiteiten. The UNL is a trade group of ten government-funded universities, three special universities, and the Open University of the Netherlands. It formed as the Vereniging van Samenwerkende Nederlandse Universiteiten in 1985, as a successor to the Academische Raad.
The Tijdschrift van de Koninklijke Vereniging voor Nederlandse Muziekgeschiedenis is a peer-reviewed academic journal covering the music history of the Low Countries. It is published by the Koninklijke Vereniging voor Nederlandse Muziekgeschiedenis and the editor-in-chief is Eric Jas. It was established in 1882 as the Tijdschrift der Vereeniging voor Noord-Nederlandsche Muziekgeschiedenis, renamed "Tijdschrift der Vereeniging voor Nederlandsche Muziekgeschiedenis" in 1909. In 1948 the name was changed again to the more general Tijdschrift voor Muziekwetenschap, but in 1960 this reverted to the previous Tijdschrift van de Vereniging voor Nederlandse Muziekgeschiedenis. The journal obtained its current title in 1995 when the society obtained the right to call itself "Royal". The journal is published in two yearly issues, although these are often combined in one special issue covering a single topic.
