Pete Kaligis (born January 6, 1971) is an American football coach, former player, and former track and field athlete. He was an All-American shot putter, three-time Rose Bowl Game participant, and starter for the 1991 national champions at the University of Washington. Kaligis has been an assistant coach for various college football programs since 1994.

Kaligis grew up in Bellingham, Washington.

College

Kaligis played for the Washington Huskies from 1990 to 1994, where was an All-American in the shot put [1] and starred on the football team.

Coaching

Following his college football playing career, Kaligis began a college football coaching career with stints at Western Washington, Washington, Montana, and Wyoming.

In 2012, Kaligis acted as interim head coach for Wyoming against Boise State while head coach Dave Christensen served a one-game suspension following a profanity-laced tirade after a loss to Air Force a week earlier. [2] However, Wyoming credits the entire season to Christensen. [3] On December 2, 2021 it was announced Washington State University had hired Kaligis as both Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Tackles Coach.

Dennis Erickson American football coach

Dennis Brian Erickson is an American football coach who most recently served as the head coach for the Salt Lake Stallions of the Alliance of American Football league. He was also the head coach at the University of Idaho, the University of Wyoming (1986), Washington State University (1987–1988), the University of Miami (1989–1994), Oregon State University (1999–2002), and Arizona State University (2007–2011). During his tenure at Miami, Erickson's teams won two national championships, in 1989 and 1991. His record as a college football head coach is 179–96–1 (.650).

The Boise State Broncos football program represents Boise State University in college football and competes in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) as a member of the Mountain West Conference. Ernest Duncan "Pokey" Allen Jr. was a gridiron football player and coach in the United States and Canada. He played college football for the Utah Utes before going on to play professionally for the BC Lions and the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League (CFL) in the 1960s.

David John Christensen is a former American college football coach and player, who was most recently an assistant coach at Arizona State. He previously worked as the offensive line coach and run-game coordinator for the Texas A&M Aggies. He previously served as the offensive coordinator for the University of Utah. He was previously the head coach at the University of Wyoming from 2009 to 2013, where he compiled a record of 27 wins and 35 losses (.435). Prior to Wyoming, Christensen was the offensive coordinator for the University of Missouri and the University of Toledo.

2012 Wyoming Cowboys football team American college football season

The 2012 Wyoming Cowboys football team represented the University of Wyoming in the 2012 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Cowboys were led by fourth year head coach Dave Christensen and played their home games at War Memorial Stadium. They were members of the Mountain West Conference.
