The Fremantle Football Club,nicknamed the Dockers,is a professional Australian rules football club competing in the Australian Football League (AFL),the sport's elite competition. The team was founded in 1994 to represent the port city of Fremantle,a stronghold of Australian rules football in Western Australia. The Dockers were the second team from the state to be admitted to the competition,following the West Coast Eagles in 1987. Both Fremantle and the West Coast Eagles are owned by the West Australian Football Commission (WAFC),with a board of directors operating Fremantle on the commission's behalf.

During the ANZ Championship era,Fever were the only Australian team not to win a title,play in a grand final or feature in a finals series. However,during the Suncorp Super Netball era they emerged as challengers. They were grand finalists in both 2018 and 2020,and eventually claimed their first premiership in 2022.

The West Australian Netball League,also referred to as the WA Netball League,is a state netball league featuring teams from Western Australia. It is organised by Netball Western Australia. On a national level,the league is effectively a third level league,below Suncorp Super Netball and the Australian Netball League. It was originally known as the Gold Netball League. During the later 2000s and early 2010s,it was known as the Smarter than Smoking Netball League. Since 2019 it has been known as the Gold Industry Group WANL. Historically,the league's most successful team has been Southside Demons. During the 2010s the most successful team has been West Coast Warriors.

Bradley William Pettitt is an Australian politician,who was Mayor of Fremantle in Western Australia from 2009 until 2021. At the 2021 state election,Pettitt was elected to the Western Australian Legislative Council as the sole member of the Greens Western Australia in the state upper house.
The Rock Machine–Rebels conflict is an ongoing conflict between the Rock Machine and Rebels motorcycle gangs in Perth,Western Australia. The conflict began in 2009 and has continued sporadically,with both clubs competing for territory and control of criminal rackets.
