Steven Siro Vai is an American guitarist,composer,singer,songwriter,and producer. A three-time Grammy Award winner and fifteen-time nominee,Vai started his music career in 1978 at the age of eighteen as a transcriptionist for Frank Zappa,and played in Zappa's band from 1980 to 1983. He embarked on a solo career in 1983 and has released eight solo albums to date. He has recorded and toured with Alcatrazz,David Lee Roth,and Whitesnake,as well as recording with artists such as Public Image Ltd,Mary J. Blige,Spinal Tap,and Ozzy Osbourne. Additionally,Vai has toured with live-only acts G3,Zappa Plays Zappa,and the Experience Hendrix tour,as well as headlining international tours.

Real Illusions:Reflections is the seventh studio album by guitarist Steve Vai,released on February 22,2005 through Epic Records. The album reached No. 147 on the U.S. Billboard 200,as well as No. 88 on the Dutch albums chart and No. 110 on the French albums chart.
Flex-Able is the debut studio album by Steve Vai. This was his first as a solo artist,and was created in Stucco Blue,a shed converted into a studio in Vai's old back garden. It is very different from many of his other albums,and is largely influenced by Frank Zappa. Flex-Able does not rely as much on massive guitar arrangements and shred moments as the rest of his output from the 1990s onwards,with the exception of Leftovers which is a compilation of bonus tracks and remasters from his sessions at 'Stucco Blue'.

The 7th Song,Enchanting Guitar Melodies is a 2000 album by guitarist Steve Vai. It is his first compilation album,but unlike a standard "greatest hits" or "best of" album,all of the songs on it can be found on one of Vai's previous albums as the 7th track. The 7th track on each of his albums is meant to be the most emotional and well articulated piece on the album. "Christmas Time is Here",while not previously released on a Vai album,can nonetheless be found as the 7th track on the 1996 Christmas compilation,Merry Axemas.
Alcatrazz is a heavy metal band formed in 1983 by Graham Bonnet,Jimmy Waldo,and Gary Shea. Following an internal disagreement and split in 2020,there are currently two separate and distinct Alcatrazz line-ups,one featuring Bonnet,and another featuring Waldo and Shea. Alcatrazz are best known for their songs "Island in the Sun","Hiroshima Mon Amour",and "God Blessed Video". The band went through a number of line-up changes,with Bonnet being the only member to be in every incarnation of Alcatrazz. They are also notable for featuring a previously-unknown Yngwie Malmsteen,who was the guitarist of Alcatrazz during 1983–1984,and was subsequently replaced by Steve Vai,and Danny Johnson in the original incarnation of the band up until 1987. Joe Stump became the Alcatrazz guitarist when the band reformed,and remains the guitarist in the Waldo-Shea line-up of Alcatrazz. In June 2021,Jeff Loomis was announced as the guitarist in the Bonnet line-up of Alcatrazz.
The Infinite Steve Vai:An Anthology is Steve Vai's compilation album that was released in 2003. This two-disc compilation spans Vai's entire solo career,featuring the best tracks from most of his albums including Fire Garden,Passion and Warfare,Alien Love Secrets and The Ultra Zone. One song is even included from his Whitesnake days and one from his Alcatrazz days. The songs on the album do not appear chronologically relative to Vai's career.
Chris Opperman is a composer who has recently emerged into the mainstream. Opperman is known mostly for his work orchestrating the music of guitarists Steve Vai and Mike Keneally for their respective performances with Holland's Metropole Orkest. Opperman also performed on Steve Vai's first round of orchestral concerts and the song "Lotus Feet" was nominated for the 2006 Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. Also,"The Attitude Song" from Vai's Sound Theories Vol. I &II album was nominated for the 2008 Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.

Bryan Beller is an American bass guitarist known for his work with Joe Satriani,The Aristocrats,Dethklok,Mike Keneally,Steve Vai,James LaBrie of Dream Theater and Dweezil Zappa,as well as his four solo album releases,View (2003),Thanks In Advance (2008),Wednesday Night Live (2011),and the progressive double concept album Scenes From The Flood (2019). He has been Joe Satriani's touring bassist since 2013,encompassing the Unstoppable Momentum tour (2013–14), the Shockwave (2015–16) world tour,and the G3/What Happens Next tour (2018),in addition to featuring on the Shockwave Supernova record. Beller is also the bassist of the rock/fusion super-trio The Aristocrats,and he managed the band from 2012-2018. The Aristocrats have released four studio albums,along with two live releases documenting the band's world tours in support of their debut album The Aristocrats and sophomore album Culture Clash. Their most recent studio album You Know What... is the focus of their current world tour,which began in the summer of 2019 and will extend through to late 2020.

The Secret Jewel Box is a ten-CD box set,a collection of music by guitarist Steve Vai,released in 2001. Vai's website describes it as "not a compilation of Vai's catalog,but rather something far more conceptual. The series includes soundtracks,rarities,outtakes and oddities,out of print albums,Vai’s recordings with Frank Zappa and with early bands Alcatrazz and The Classified,acoustic piano interpretations of Vai songs,even an eclectic audio art project."
The Flex-Able Leftovers album,released on November 10,1998,on Sony Records,contains five bonus tracks and is quite different from the original Flex-Able Leftovers EP. Unlike Steve Vai's other albums,which are mostly instrumental,almost all copies of Flex-Able Leftovers feature a Parental Advisory label,as a result of the song "Fuck Yourself" containing multiple profanities and sexual references. Other differences from the original version include the recording of live drums on "You Didn't Break It!" and the complete re-editing and mixing of the songs.

The Story of Light "Real Illusions:...of a..." is the eighth studio album by guitarist Steve Vai,released on August 14,2012 through Favored Nations Entertainment. It is Vai's first full-length studio album since 2005's Real Illusions:Reflections. On May 23,2012 The Story of Light was made available for pre-order through Vai's official website with an instant download of "Gravity Storm". The track "John the Revelator" contains a sample of Blind Willie Johnson's song of the same name. "The Moon and I" was initially released as a VaiTunes digital only single in 2010. However,due to the personal nature of the song,Vai decided to remix it and include it on the album. The album debuted on Billboard 200 at No. 78.
