Joseph Satriani is an American rock guitarist,composer,and songwriter. Early in his career he worked as a guitar instructor,with many of his former students achieving fame,including Steve Vai,Larry LaLonde,Rick Hunolt,Kirk Hammett,Andy Timmons,Charlie Hunter,Kevin Cadogan,and Alex Skolnick. Satriani went on to have a successful solo music career,starting in the late 1980s. He is a 15-time Grammy Award nominee and has sold over 10 million albums,making him the bestselling instrumental rock guitarist of all time.
Liquid Tension Experiment (LTE) is an American instrumental progressive metal supergroup,founded by Mike Portnoy,then Dream Theater's drummer,in 1997. The band initially released two albums,between 1998 and 1999. An extension of their second regular album,with the absence of John Petrucci was released in 2007 under the name "Liquid Trio Experiment".

Steven Siro Vai is an American guitarist,songwriter,and producer. John Peter Petrucci is an American guitarist,best known as a founding member of the progressive metal band Dream Theater. He produced or co-produced all of Dream Theater's albums from Metropolis Pt. 2:Scenes from a Memory (1999) to A View from the Top of the World (2021),and has been the sole producer of the band's albums released since A Dramatic Turn of Events (2011). Petrucci has also released two solo albums:Suspended Animation (2005) and Terminal Velocity (2020).

He plays custom guitars that are a hybrid of electric and acoustic,and his fingerstyle picking technique has been acknowledged by the readers of Guitar Player who voted Legg the "best acoustic fingerstyle" player four years in a row (1993–1996).

Dave LaRue is an American bassist who performed with the Dixie Dregs from 1988 to 2017 and with guitarist Steve Morse's Band since 1989. He also has worked with Dream Theater's John Petrucci,Mike Portnoy,Derek Sherinian and Jordan Rudess. He plays Music Man bass guitars,among them the "Sterling" and "StingRay 5 five-string" but has mainly switched to their "Bongo" line including four- and five-string fretted and fretless models. From March 2006 to September 2006,he toured with Joe Satriani on the Super Colossal tour. Most recently,LaRue became a member of the supergroup Flying Colors alongside long-time bandmate Steve Morse.

According to Guitar 9,an online musicianship magazine,he has played bass and other stringed instruments on at least 22 albums,with music styles ranging from jazz,jazz fusion,progressive metal and instrumental rock. Bryan Beller is an American bass guitarist known for his work with Joe Satriani,The Aristocrats,Dethklok,Mike Keneally,Steve Vai,James LaBrie of Dream Theater and Dweezil Zappa,as well as his four solo album releases,View (2003),Thanks In Advance (2008),Wednesday Night Live (2011),and the progressive double concept album Scenes From The Flood (2019). He has been Joe Satriani's touring bassist since 2013,encompassing the Unstoppable Momentum tour (2013–14), the Shockwave (2015–16) world tour,and the G3/What Happens Next tour (2018),in addition to featuring on the Shockwave Supernova record. Beller is also the bassist of the rock/fusion super-trio The Aristocrats,and he managed the band from 2012-2018. The Aristocrats have released four studio albums,along with two live releases documenting the band's world tours in support of their debut album The Aristocrats and sophomore album Culture Clash. Their most recent studio album You Know What... was the focus of their world tour that began in the summer of 2019 and extended through to 2020.
"My Guitar Wants to Kill Your Mama" is a song written by Frank Zappa and originally recorded by The Mothers of Invention in February 1969 at Criteria Studios (Miami),with overdubs recorded sometime between March and May 1969 at TTG Studios and Whitney Studios. This version was included on their 1970 album Weasels Ripped My Flesh, an LP that included various recordings by the band from 1967 to 1969. A second version was released as a single on the Bizarre and Reprise labels as "My Guitar." Despite the more conventional naming,"My Guitar" did not chart.

Terminal Velocity is the second studio album by Dream Theater guitarist John Petrucci,released digitally on August 28,2020 and on October 30,2020 for the physical version. This is his first solo album since 2005's Suspended Animation. During the recording sessions,Petrucci was reunited with his former Dream Theater bandmate Mike Portnoy,making it their first collaboration since the latter left the band in 2010. Bassist Dave LaRue,who performed on Suspended Animation,returns for this album.
