Pilot Talk is the third studio album by rapper Curren$y. It was released under Damon Dash's DD172 record label division, BluRoc Records. [8] [9] The album was originally scheduled to be released on March 23, 2010. [8] However, it was later postponed and then given a June 15, 2010 release. [10] The album was then pushed back and released on July 13. [11] The entire album is solely produced by Ski Beatz except "Prioritize", which is produced by Nesby Phips, and "Roasted", which is produced by Monsta Beatz. [12] Ski Beatz also remixed the song "Breakfast" for the album which was originally produced by Mos Def. [13] Several music videos were shot for the album promotion and can be found on CreativeControl.tv [14]
The album debuted at number 39 on the Billboard 200. [15] It sold just over 10,764 copies its first week. [16] The album is now at 33,000 in total sales. [17]
Videos for "Life Under the Scope", "Breakfast", "Address" and "Prioritize" were shot for the album promotion and can be found on CreativeControl.tv. [14] The lead single, "King Kong" was produced by Ski Beatz and released for digital download on April 27, 2010. [18] The music video premiered on DD172's CreativeControl.tv [11] as well as their Vimeo page on May 15, 2010. [19] The video begins with Curren$y driving in his Chevrolet El Camino, playing "Respiration" from the Mos Def & Talib Kweli's Black Star album. Other footage is taken from Curren$y in New Orleans. The video was directed by Jonah Schwartz of Creative Control. The second single, "Roasted", was released for digital download on June 21, 2010 and features Trademark and Young Roddy of Curren$y's Jets International. Roc-A-Fella Records was an American hip hop record label and music management company founded by record executives and entrepreneurs Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter, Damon Dash, and Kareem "Biggs" Burke in 1994. Carter issued his debut album, Reasonable Doubt (1996) as the label's first release, in a joint venture with Priority Records. The label has signed and released albums for acts including Kanye West, Cam'ron, Beanie Sigel, Memphis Bleek, Juelz Santana, Freeway, Jadakiss, Teairra Marí, State Property, and The Diplomats before its dissolution in 2013.
GOOD Music was an American independent record label founded by rapper Kanye West in 2004. The label entered an exclusive long-term worldwide distribution contract with the Island Def Jam Music Group in 2011. In 2012, the label released its only compilation album, Cruel Summer. In 2015, Pusha T was appointed president of the label by West, while record executive Steven Victor was appointed chief operating officer (COO). In late 2022, Pusha T stepped down from the position as he was no longer on speaking terms with West.

Guest appearances featured consists of Curren$y, Jim Jones, Jay Electronica, Joell Ortiz, Jean Grae, Wiz Khalifa, Stalley and Camp Lo. Mos Def was also scheduled to appear on the album, but was removed due to clearance issues.

Weekend at Burnie's is the fifth studio album by American rapper Curren$y. The album was released on June 28, 2011, through Warner Bros. Eleven tracks on this album are produced by Monsta Beatz. The album's lead single, "#JetsGo" is produced by Rahki. "You See It" and "This Is the Life" were leaked to promote the album. On June 21 Curren$y premiered the album during a Ustream-Session. It featured the Bonus Tracks "JLC" and "Get Paid." In its first week, the album sold 23,000 copies in the US, after a Billboard 200 debut of #22.

DD172 is a media collective founded by American entrepreneur Damon Dash. DD172 encompasses America Nu, a magazine; and VNGRD79, a web design firm. It also includes an art gallery. DD172 is named for Dash's initials and its original street address. That building, a rented four-story warehouse, housed the organization until mid-June 2011, at which time DD172 moved out.
