Pinkish Black is an American experimental sci-fi avant-metal synth-doom band from Fort Worth, Texas. [1] The musical duo includes drums and synthesizer/keyboard only.
In 2005, the members were part of an experimental hard rock trio called The Great Tyrant. After Tommy Atkins, the bassist for The Great Tyrant, committed suicide in 2010, the remaining members continued on as a duo ultimately named Pinkish Black. [2] [3] Daron Beck played keyboards and vocals and Jon Teague remained on drums and synths,
The band had been signed from the Dada Drumming record label to Handmade Birds. Here, they spent a great deal of time recording and mixing the music for their upcoming debut. On May 5, 2012, the self-titled LP was released.
Beck and Teague were signed to Century Media Records on November 12, 2012. [4] Their second album Razed to the Ground was released on September 17, 2013. [5]
On December 4, 2014, Relapse Records announced that they had signed the band, and that the label would be releasing both Pinkish Black's third full-length and the final works of Pinkish Black predecessors The Great Tyrant (entitled The Trouble With Being Born). [6]
In 2019, Relapse released an album called Concept Unification which explored themes of anxiety, futility and emptiness that Beck claims to have experienced as a child after Showbiz Pizza rebranded itself into a Chuck E. Cheese's. [7]
In 2020, they released a joint album with avant-jazz band Yells at Eels entitled Vanishing Light in the Tunnel of Dreams. [8]

Stan Getz was an American jazz saxophonist. Playing primarily the tenor saxophone, Getz was known as "The Sound" because of his warm, lyrical tone, with his prime influence being the wispy, mellow timbre of his idol, Lester Young. Coming to prominence in the late 1940s with Woody Herman's big band, Getz is described by critic Scott Yanow as "one of the all-time great tenor saxophonists". Getz performed in bebop and cool jazz groups. Influenced by João Gilberto and Antônio Carlos Jobim, he also helped popularize bossa nova in the United States with the hit 1964 single "The Girl from Ipanema".
Eels is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1991 by singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mark Oliver Everett, known by the stage name E. Sad Wings of Destiny is the second studio album by English heavy metal band Judas Priest, released on 26 March 1976 by Gull Records. Burden Brothers are a hard rock band formed in Dallas, Texas, by Toadies lead singer/songwriter Vaden Todd Lewis and Reverend Horton Heat/Izzy Stradlin drummer Taz Bentley. The band currently consists of Lewis (Vocals/Guitar), Bentley (Drums/Vocals), and Casey Hess (Guitar/Vocals). The band went on indefinite hiatus since 2006, due to the Toadies reunion and other interests, but reunited to perform at the Dia De Los Toadies music festival in September 2015.

Sadist is a death metal band from Genoa, Italy, founded in January 1991. They made their debut with a Black Screams EP in 1991, followed by three albums. The band went on a hiatus after releasing the album Lego in 2000. They reunited in 2005 and released their self-titled album in 2007, followed by the release of a further three albums since then. Domi and JD Beck are a jazz duo consisting of French keyboardist Domi Louna and American drummer JD Beck. The two met in 2018 and have since worked with Thundercat, Anderson .Paak, Herbie Hancock, Eric Andre, Ariana Grande, Earl Sweatshirt, Bruno Mars and many more. They released their first single, "Smile", and debut album, Not Tight, as a duo in 2022. They received two Grammy Award nominations in 2022, for Best New Artist and Best Contemporary Instrumental Album for Not Tight.
Lance Lopez is an American blues rock and Texas blues singer, guitarist, and songwriter. Lopez has been influenced by Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Jeff Beck has described Lopez as "a very exciting and intense blues guitarist". Lopez has spoken over the years about being mentored by both Billy Gibbons and Johnny Winter. Lopez was aged 16 at the time he met Gibbons, and they have remained friends throughout.
