Spotsylvania County is a county in the U.S. state of Virginia. As of the 2019 estimate, the population was 136,215. Spotsylvania is a part of Northern Virginia and the Baltimore–Washington metropolitan area. Its county seat is Spotsylvania Courthouse.

Tysons, also known as Tysons Corner, is a census-designated place (CDP) and unincorporated community in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. Located in Northern Virginia between the community of McLean and the town of Vienna along the Capital Beltway (I-495), it lies within the Washington Metropolitan Area. Tysons is home to two super-regional shopping malls—Tysons Corner Center and Tysons Galleria—and the corporate headquarters of numerous companies such as Intelsat, DXC Technology, Gannett, Hilton Worldwide, Freddie Mac, Capital One, and Booz Allen Hamilton. Tysons is Fairfax County's central business district and a regional commercial center. It has been characterized as a quintessential example of an edge city. The population was 19,627 as of the 2010 census.
Pitman shorthand is a system of shorthand for the English language developed by Englishman Sir Isaac Pitman (1813–1897), who first presented it in 1837. Like most systems of shorthand, it is a phonetic system; the symbols do not represent letters, but rather sounds, and words are, for the most part, written as they are spoken. As of 1996, Pitman shorthand was the most popular shorthand system used in the United Kingdom and the second most popular in the United States.

Mandombe or Mandombé is a script proposed in 1978 in Mbanza-Ngungu in the Bas-Congo province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo by Wabeladio Payi, who related that it was revealed to him in a dream by Simon Kimbangu, the prophet of the Kimbanguist Church. Mandombe is based on the sacred shapes and , and intended for writing African languages such as the four national languages of the Congo, Kikongo, Lingala, Tshiluba and Swahili, though it does not have enough vowels to write Lingala fully. It is taught in Kimbanguist church schools in Angola, the Republic of the Congo, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is also promoted by the Kimbanguist Centre de l’Écriture Négro-Africaine (CENA). The Mandombe Academy at CENA is currently working on transcribing other African languages in the script. It has been classified as the third most viable indigenous script of recent indigenous west African scripts, behind only the Vai syllabary and the N'Ko alphabet.

State Route 200 is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of Virginia. The state highway runs 19.23 miles (30.95 km) from SR 3 in White Stone north to U.S. Route 360 at Burgess. SR 200 is the main north–south highway of the eastern end of the Northern Neck. The state highway connects the Lancaster County towns of White Stone, Irvington, and Kilmarnock, where the highway intersects SR 3 again, with eastern Northumberland County.
Comptons Corner is an unincorporated community in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. Comptons Corner is located between Centreville and Yorkshire on State Route 28. The actual "corner" is created by the intersection of Sully and Compton Roads. According to the Geographic Names Information System, the community has also been known as Johnsons Corner in its past.
Jennifer Susan Pitman OBE, known as Jenny Pitman, is a former British racehorse trainer and author. She became the first woman to train a Grand National winner, when Corbiere won the race in 1983. She went on to win a second Grand National with Royal Athlete in 1995. She has also trained two Cheltenham Gold Cup winners with Burrough Hill Lad in 1984 and with Garrison Savanah in 1991. Following her retirement from horse training in 1998 she became a writer of novels, principally with a racing theme. She is a member of the Disciplinary Panel and Licensing Committee of the British Horseracing Authority.
