Plamena Mitkova (born 18 September 2004) is a Bulgarian track and field athlete who won the long jump at the World Junior Athletics Championships in 2022.

Career

Mitkova won the Bulgarian national title in July 2022, jumping 6.19m in the Stadion Ivaylo in Veliko Tarnovo. [1] In August, 2022 Mitkova triumphed in the long jump at the World Jumior Athletics Championships, jumping a personal best 6.66m. [2] [ citation needed ]

Personal life

Mitkova originates from Plovdiv, Bulgaria’s second largest city.[ citation needed ]

She competed in every World Championship from the inaugural 1983 edition to 1999, the highlight being a bronze medal in 1995. Her personal best results, 20.91 in shot put and 69.72 in discus, were both set in Sofia in 1987.

Nikolay Antonov is a retired Bulgarian athlete. He started as a 200 metres sprinter, and won the 1991 World Indoor Championships and 1992 European Athletics Indoor Championships. In 1993 he switched to long jump.

Nikolay Atanasov-Joko, also spelled Nikolai Atanasov, is a Bulgarian long jumper. His personal best jump is 8.31 metres, achieved in July 2003 in Pirgos.
