Pointe-Platon Ecological Reserve is an ecological reserve in Quebec, Canada. It was established in 1995. [1]

"Pointe Platon" was the name of the Manor House and estate which was occupied by the de Lotbinière family. Pierre-Gustave Joly de Lotbinière (1798-1865) and his wife Julie-Christine Chartier de Lotbinière, 5th seigneuresse of Lotbinière lived at "Pointe Platon" for several years [2]

Pierre-Gustave-Gaspard Joly de Lotbinière was a French businessman and amateur daguerreotypist, born citizen of the Republic of Geneva, and married to a Canadian seigneuress. Famous for being the first to photograph the Acropolis of Athens and some ancient Egyptian monuments, he is also the father of Sir Henri-Gustave Joly de Lotbinière, prime minister of Quebec from 1878 to 1879.
