In 2021, she was honoured with the Padma Shri in the field of Hindi literature and education at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Dehli by the Government of India, which is the fourth-highest civilian award of the Republic of India.
Samajwadi Party's student leader Hemant Yadav and his colleague Alok Yadav were attacked with sticks on April 11, 2023 at Satish Chandra College in Ballia, and both of them escaped knowing that they had been killed. After which student leader Hemant Yadav died while taking treatment. On the Tahrir of the family members, a case has been registered against nine people. The outpost in-charge has been suspended.
