Prasasti Seni [1] is the eleventh studio album from Malaysian pop singer-songwriter Siti Nurhaliza. The album was released on 12 April 2004 in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei and at a later time in Indonesia on 23 May 2004. This album also includes a heart-shaped VCD that features a video message from Siti and a video clip of "Pejam Matamu". Notable singles include "Dialah Di Hati", which is also nominated in Best Song category in Anugerah Industri Muzik, "Lagu Rindu" & "Seindah Biasa".

Production

Prasasti Seni was heavily influenced by Siti Nurhaliza. Prasasti, a Malay loanword from Sanskrit carries the meaning of "stone inscription" or "a marker signifying existence". [2] [lower-alpha 1] She explained the rationale on chosen the title as, "Songs that are sung by me are my marks of existence in the local music scene. The title of the album is very significant to me in divulging what I have kept in my heart for my beloved fans." [3] [lower-alpha 2]

Artwork

The album cover photography was designed by Rauna Jud and filmed in Janda Baik, Pahang. The cover depicts Siti Nurhaliza styling a white gown. [4] It was also nominated for the Best Album Cover at the 2005 Anugerah Industri Muzik.

Release and reception

Prasasti Seni was released on 12 April 2004 in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei and later in Indonesia on 23 May 2004. To promote the album, "Seindah Biasa" was released as the first single in the album. This was later followed by "Dialah di Hati" (second single), "Lagu Rindu" (third single) and "Pendirianku" (fourth single). The album was well received by fans as more than 100,000 units and 700,000 units were sold in both Malaysian and Indonesian markets respectively. [5] [6]

Critical response

Prasasti Seni was well received by music critics. Many of the critics reviewed her vocals in the album favourably. [7] [8] [9] [10] Faridul Anwar Farinordin of New Straits Times gave the album three and half stars. [9] He praised the new direction of the album as "fresh" and "more adult contemporary". [9] Echoing similar points made by Faridul, Jad Mahidin of Sunday Mail also agreed that Siti has matured musically and gave the album a four-star review. [7] In a glowing review by Meor Shariman of The Malay Mail , he praised the album as one of her best, commending it as "better than her award-winning E.M.A.S ". [8] Reviewer from Harian Metro also reviewed the album as a better album than its predecessor and praised Siti for venturing into fresher new sounds. [11]

Konsert Lentera Timur was a concert residency by Malaysian recording artist, Siti Nurhaliza. Held on four non consecutive nights in September 2013 at Istana Budaya, this was her first concert in which the songs performed were mainly driven by traditional Malay and folk music genres. Many of the songs were taken or derived from her four solo traditional albums: Cindai (1997), Sahmura (2000), Sanggar Mustika (2002) and Lentera Timur (2008). During the course of the four-night concert, she performed more than 30 songs and was backed by 40-piece traditional Malaysian orchestra, Orkestra Traditional Malaysia (OTM). The musical backing included an amalgamation of sounds from different traditional musical instruments, including strings and percussion that are synonymous with Malaysia's multiracial culture – Rebana, Er-hu, Sitar and Sapeh.

Unplugged is a live album by Malaysian recording artist Siti Nurhaliza. It was released in multiple formats, both physical and digital in Malaysia on 30 June 2015. The main live tracks were all taken from her 2015 unplugged concert at Istana Budaya on 7 April 2015. The CD, digital download and LP record versions of the album however come with three new bonus songs, "Menatap dalam Mimpi", "Engkau" ("You") and "Mikraj Cinta". Yonder Music Live Series: Dato' Siti Nurhaliza & Friends Concert was a single day concert by Malaysian recording artist, Siti Nurhaliza. Sponsored by Celcom and Yonder Music, the free concert was only available exclusively to Celcom users who are subscribers of the Yonder Music mobile app. It was held on 2 April 2016 and she was supported and accompanied by five Malaysian artists and three Indonesian artists. Staged at Stadium Negara, the supporting acts during the night of the concert were Faizal Tahir, Hafiz Suip, Jaclyn Victor, Joe Flizzow, and SonaOne of Malaysia and Afgansyah Reza, Anggun, and Cakra Khan from Indonesia.

Siti Sarah Raissuddin was a Malaysian singer and actress. She started her career in the music industry when she became the final contestant of 2001 edition of Bintang RTM. She also won Best New Artist, Best Pop Album and Best Album at the 2003 Anugerah Industri Muzik. In addition, she also won the Best Female New Artist award at the 2003 Anugerah Planet Muzik. She was also the only new artist to be nominated in the Best Female Artist category which was won by Siti Nurhaliza that year.

Haliza Hanim Abd Halim is a Malaysian singer, actress, songwriter and businesswoman. She started his career in the Malaysian music industry at the age of 17 after winning as the runner-up in the Golden Teen Search singing competition organized by Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) in 1996. After the program ended, she was proposed to by a recording company, Suria Records. She is one of the proteges of Adnan Abu Hassan and is considered one of Malaysia's best singers who dominated the music industry in the 2000s, in line with renowned vocalists such as Siti Nurhaliza, Jaclyn Victor, Dayang Nurfaizah and Misha Omar.
