The president of Fudan University is the chief executive officer of Fudan University, and, essentially, the leader of the university. Each is appointed by and is responsible to the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and the State Council, who delegate to him or her the day-to-day running of the university.
Fudan University, was set up in 1905, and its first president, was Ma Xiangbo, a Chinese Jesuit priest, scholar and educator, he also founded the Aurora University.
The university's current president is Jin Li, who is also a fellow of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Fudan University (FDU) is a public university in Shanghai, China. It is affiliated with the Ministry of Education and is co-funded with the Shanghai Municipal Government. The university is part of Project 211, Project 985, and the Double First-Class Construction.
Yang Fujia was a Chinese nuclear physicist. He was an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a renowned nuclear physicist and a Chancellor of the University of Nottingham, England. He was President of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC).
Yangpu is one of the 16 districts of Shanghai. It is located in the northeastern part of downtown Shanghai, bordering the Huangpu River on the east and south, Hongkou on the west, and Baoshan on the north. The Nordic Centre in Shanghai at Fudan University (复旦大学北欧中心) was officially opened on November 8, 1995 by the Norwegian Prime Minister Gro Harlem Brundtland and Professor Yang Fujia, President of Fudan University. The Nordic Centre was then a joint project between Fudan University and 14 Nordic universities. Today the Centre has 26 member universities representing the five Nordic countries and one associate member.

He previously served as president of Fudan University from 2014 to 2021, president of Sun Yat-sen University from 2010 to 2014, vice president of Sun Yat-sen University from 2004 to 2010, and dean of the Sun Yat-sen University School of Physical Science and Engineering Technology from 1999 to 2004.
Yang Yuliang is a Chinese chemist and educator. He is a member of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He formerly served as president of Fudan University between January 14, 2009 to October 24, 2014.

Ning Bin was a Chinese control systems engineer and professor who served as president of Beijing Jiaotong University from 2008 to 2019. He was elected an IEEE Fellow in 2014 "for contributions to train operation control systems" and was elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2017. He was a four-time recipient of the State Science and Technology Progress Award and was awarded the Ho Leung Ho Lee Prize in 2016. He died in a traffic collision.
