The Professional Footballers Association of Malaysia (Malay : Persatuan Pemain-Pemain Bolasepak Profesional Malaysia, abbrev: PFAM) is a representative organisation for professional football players in Malaysia, established in 2014. [1] It is affiliated with the worldwide professional football players organisation, FIFPro, since 22 October 2013. [2] It was registered with the Malaysia Sports Commissioner's Office on 4 August 2014. [3]

PFAM was inactive for a few years until it was reactivated in 2013, with Hairuddin Omar elected as president of the association. [4]

For the 2021-2023 session, Safee Sali led the organization and was assisted by Razman Roslan as Vice President.

PFAM is vocal about welfares of football players in Malaysia, whether still active of retired. [5] PFAM also is responsible for the PFAM Player of the Month award, given to the best player in Malaysia football monthly.

Objective

PFA Malaysia was established to promote, advance and protect the interest of professional footballers in Malaysia. It exists to support and provide advice to, and represent professional footballers in Malaysia in matters pertaining to their relations with Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), clubs, state football associations or any other body responsible for or in any way connected with the administration of football in Malaysia.

PFA Malaysia also provides legal advice and assistance to professional footballers in Malaysia in respect of their professional contractual obligations with their clubs or state football associations, and PFA Malaysia acts as an exclusive representative body and collective bargaining agent of Malaysia's professional footballers.

PFA Malaysia also seeks to promote professional football as a stable, secure and worthwhile career, and provides advice and assistance to Malaysia's professional footballers in their career development.

With the support of FIFPRO, PFA Malaysia seeks to establish an international network to enable Malaysia's professional footballers to have an input in international decision-making in matters pertaining to the game of football.

Malaysia national under-19 football team represents Malaysia in international football competitions in AFF U-19 Youth Championship, AFC U-19 Championship and FIFA U-20 World Cup, as well as any other under-20 international football tournaments. The players in the current team mainly consist of players with age within 17 to 19 years old where the oldest players will be below the age requirement of 20 years old when the next U-20 tournament started. The team will also play in other age-restricted tournament as the older or younger side such as U-20 and U-18 when needed.

The Professional Footballers' Association Scotland is the association for professional footballers in Scotland. It was known as the Scottish Professional Footballers' Association (SPFA), but that organisation was dissolved and replaced by PFA Scotland in 2007. The PFAM Player of the Month is an association football award that recognises the best Malaysian League player each month of the season. The player nominated in the month will be selected by a panel comprising representatives from PFAM, asiana.my and media practitioners. Assessment will be made by the Nomination Committee PFAM Player of the Month Award – asiana.my comprising practitioners experienced sports media. Among the matters considered by the Nomination Committee is the player's performance during the month, the goal scored and assists. They are free to choose any player from the Premier League who they felt deserved to receive the award. Votes will be made through PFAM official website which is [www.pfam.my.] The voters can vote via desktop, laptop, smartphone, or tablet and can use all types of browsers. Anyone can vote for the candidates that was chosenfor the award. PFAM will include a list of nominations to the site for each month.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Liga Bolasepak Rakyat</span> Football league

Liga Bolasepak Rakyat was the fourth-tier football league in Malaysia. The league was managed by Liga Bolasepak Rakyat-Limited Liability Partnership (LBR-LLP) and it was an amateur-level competition. It was established in 2015 to provide an alternative entry point for young players. The league has discontinued since 2017 and have been replaced by M4 League.
