The 2004 AFF Championship was the 5th edition of the AFF Championship, the football championship of nations affiliated to the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF), and the last time under the name Tiger Cup. This was the first time a new format had been applied, with Group stage was jointly hosted by Vietnam and Malaysia from 7 to 16 December 2004, and top two teams from each group advanced to the Semi-finals and the Final, which was played in a two-leg home-and-away format from 28 December 2004 to 16 January 2005. This was also the final AFF Cup has a third-place match, then it wasn't continued since the 2007 edition.

The Shah Alam Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. It is used mostly for football matches but also has facilities for athletics. The stadium is the officially home of the Red Giants (Selangor) since 16 July 1994, and has a capacity of 80,372.

The 2012 AFF Championship, sponsored by Suzuki and officially known as the 2012 AFF Suzuki Cup, was the 9th edition of the AFF Championship, the football championship of Southeast Asia. It was co-hosted for group stage by Malaysia and Thailand and took place from 24 November to 22 December 2012.

The 2011 season was the 32nd season of competitive football in Malaysia.

The football tournament at the 2001 SEA Games was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It included a men's tournament, and was also the first Southeast Asian Games to include a women's tournament. The men's competition was held from 1 to 15 September 2001, while the women's tournament was held from 4 to 14 September 2001. The men's tournament was the first of the Southeast Asian Games to have an age limit, and has been played by U-23 national teams since then, while the women's tournament has no age limit. All matches were held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The 2012 season was Kelantan's 4th season in the Malaysia Super League. Kelantan were defending Malaysia Super League champions and aimed for 2nd league title this season. Furthermore, they were competing in the AFC Cup for the first time. In addition, they were also competing in the domestic tournaments, the FA Cup and the Malaysia Cup.

The 2013 Liga Super also known as the Astro Liga Super for sponsorship reasons, is the 10th season of the Liga Super, the top-tier professional football league in Malaysia.

Group C of the 2007 AFC Asian Cup was one of four groups of nations competing at the 2007 AFC Asian Cup. The group's first round of matches began on 10 July and its last matches were played on 18 July. All six group matches were played at venues in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The group consisted of hosts Malaysia, Iran, Uzbekistan and China PR.

The 2013 Malaysia Cup was the 87th season of Malaysia Cup and began on 20 August with a preliminary round and finished on 3 November 2013 with the final, held at Shah Alam Stadium. A total of 16 teams took part in the competition. The teams were divided into four groups, each containing four teams. The 2014 Piala Malaysia ended on 1 November 2014 with the final, held at Bukit Jalil National Stadium, where Pahang defeated Johor Darul Ta'zim after a penalty shootout.

The football tournament at the 2017 SEA Games was in Kuala Lumpur. In addition matches were played in Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam and Selayang.

The 2009 Selangor FA Season is Selangor FA's 4th season playing soccer in the Malaysia Super League Since its inception in 2004.

The 2014 season will be the 35th season of competitive association football in Malaysia.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2018 AFC U-16 Championship</span> International football competition

The 2018 AFC U-16 Championship was the 18th edition of the AFC U-16 Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's under-16 national teams of Asia. It took place in Malaysia, which was appointed as hosts by the AFC on 25 July 2017, between 20 September and 7 October 2018. A total of 16 teams played in the tournament.

The men's football tournament at the 2017 SEA Games was held from 14 to 29 August in Malaysia in August 2017. In this tournament, all 11 Southeast Asian teams played in the men's competition. In addition to the host city of Kuala Lumpur, matches were also played in Shah Alam and Selayang. Associations affiliated with FIFA might send teams to participate in the tournament. Men's teams were restricted to under-22 players.

The AIRMARINE Cup 2019 is the first edition of the AIRMARINE Cup, an international football tournament with four countries participating. It is played on 20 and 23 March 2019 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Ananth S. Nathan, Executive Chairman of AIRMARINE (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. takes the tournament as a national social responsibility of a corporate entity to step forward for the Malaysian national football team to gain more international break for the exposure and to advance in their FIFA ranking points.
