The Q-Chastic EP was created by Richard D. James under the alias "Q-Chastic". The album was never released but was supposedly test pressed in a limited number under the Rephlex label in 1992. The format is rumored to be 2X12" format, of which the outer 2 inches are grooveless. Its existence is heavily debated.
Although the album has never surfaced, a fake version has been passed around the internet containing the only officially released "Q-Chastic" song, "CAT 002". which appeared on the compilation The Philosophy of Sound and Machine . Although the song name represents the catalog number for the 2X12", Grant Wilson-Claridge has stated the song "CAT 002" was not pressed to the album.
On Sept 17, 2008, a Discogs user posted a review where he claimed that the most popular P2P version of the Q-Chastic EP came from a drum and bass compilation.
808 State are an English electronic music group formed in 1987 in Manchester, taking their name from the Roland TR-808 drum machine. They were formed by Graham Massey, Martin Price and Gerald Simpson, and they released their debut album, Newbuild, in September 1988. The band secured commercial success in 1989, when their song "Pacific State" was picked up by BBC Radio 1 DJ Gary Davies.

The series marked James's return to primarily analogue equipment following his computer-oriented programming work in the late 1990s. After their release, James "distilled" the 3½ hour, 42-track series into the 10-track compilation album Chosen Lords (2006), effectively his first full-length release since the 2001 album Drukqs.

Mutant Moments is the debut EP by synthpop duo Soft Cell. Only 2000 copies were pressed, originally by Big Frock Records, then later by a Japanese fan club, making the record extremely rare and prized by collectors and fans alike. The duo, who attended Leeds Metropolitan University, originally developed a cult following with their performances which routinely included bizarre sexual imagery and visuals representing sexual themes. Some examples include instances where singer Marc Almond would smear his body with cat food, simulate sexual intercourse with a full-length mirror, or appear onstage in drag.
Universal Indicator is the group name for Rephlex Records artists, Richard D. James and Mike Dred. The name is a reference to the signature acid techno sound found on all the releases. Five projects were released, and a compilation CD was mixed by Dred.
B12 are a British electronic music duo consisting of Mike Golding and Steve Rutter. First appearing in the early 1990s under a variety of monikers, including Musicology, Redcell and Cmetric, the duo were often mistaken as hailing from Detroit, their sound being comparable to the so-called second wave of Detroit techno. This was compounded by the signature style of their initial releases on their own imprint B12 Records, limited editions on coloured 12" vinyl with cryptic messages etched into the run-out grooves, and the fact that Golding and Rutter tended to shy away from the press, and rarely gave interviews, which added to the mystery of their identities.
Chris Jeffs, best known by the stage name Cylob, is a British electronic musician and producer closely associated with Aphex Twin. He has produced seven albums, three compilations and a number of remixes. Previously signed to Rephlex records, Jeffs started his own digital label Cylob Industries in 2007. His most well-known tracks include "Rewind" and "Cut The Midrange, Drop The Bass".

The Joyrex Tape is the name given to a collection of unreleased tracks from the early 1990s by Richard D. James, best known by his alias Aphex Twin. The original tape was copied from one of James' DATs sometime in the 1990s and was leaked onto the internet in 2011. In January 2015, James uploaded high quality versions of the tracks to SoundCloud as part of a track dump.
The Aints is a band name used by Ed Kuepper during his prolific early 1990s period. The group's name relates to Kuepper's first recording group, The Saints, and its initial incarnation concentrated on material from the mid-to-late 1970s. The group then took on a life of its own and produced loud, feedback-drenched recordings of new Kuepper originals. In 2017, Kuepper convened a new iteration, this time adding an exclamation mark to record and tour material he had written between the years 1969-1978, much of which had been in the setlist of the original Saints but which had, with few exceptions, not been recorded or released.
