The Croatian Handball Federation is the governing body of handball in Croatia. It is based in Zagreb.
The Pan-American Team Handball Federation (PATHF) has been the continental governing body for handball, beach handball, wheelchair handball and snow handball in Americas since 23 May 1977. PATHF includes North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. PATHF's primary functions is to organize competitions for national teams and clubs, and to conduct Men's World Handball Championship and Women's World Handball Championship qualifying tournaments.
The Italy women's national beach handball team is the national team of Italy. It is governed by the Italian Handball Federation and takes part in international beach handball competitions.
The International Handball Federation (IHF) is the administrative and controlling body for handball and beach handball. IHF is responsible for the organisation of handball's major international tournaments, notably the IHF World Men's Handball Championship, which commenced in 1938, and the IHF World Women's Handball Championship, which commenced in 1957.

The 2015 World Men's Handball Championship was the 24th staging of the World Men's Handball Championship, organised by the International Handball Federation (IHF). The final tournament was held for the first time in Qatar, from 15 January to 1 February 2015. The Qatari bid was selected over those of Norway, Poland and France after a vote by the IHF Council on 27 January 2011, in Malmö, Sweden. This was the third time that the World Championship was hosted in the Middle East And North Africa, after Egypt in 1999 and Tunisia in 2005.

Founded in 1961, the Jordan Handball Federation is affiliated to the International Handball Federation and Asian Handball Federation. The United States national beach handball team is the national team of the United States. It is governed by USA Team Handball and takes part in international beach handball competitions.
The New Zealand Men's Beach Handball team is the national team of New Zealand. It takes part in international beach handball competitions.
The GCC Games is a regional multi-sport event which involves participants from the Gulf Cooperation Council region. The GCC Games, a quadrennial multi-sport event, was established by the union and first held in 2011. There are numerous long-running GCC Championships for individual sports, including: the Gulf Cooperation Council Athletics Championships football, Archery, athletics, Badminton, sailing, basketball, Swimming, Marathon Swimming, Diving, Water Polo, Artistic Swimming, tennis, gymnastics, weightlifting, futsal, snooker, Cycling, Chess and table tennis. The 3rd edition of the game had to be organized in June 2019, but held in 2022 due to the internal issues between the GCC state countries. The 4th edition has been announced and will happen as per the announced dates. For the first time the games will be organized by the new, young and talented faces of GCC team.
Beach handball competitions at the 2019 World Beach Games in Al Rayyan, Qatar are scheduled to be held from October 9 to October 14. The venue for the competition is located at Al-Gharafa. A total of twelve men's and twelve women's teams competed in each tournament. This means a total of 240 athletes are scheduled to compete.
