The Qayyum Stadium also known as Peshawar Sport Complex is located in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. It is the biggest sports complex in Peshawar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. [1] The sport complex has facilities for all major sports including football, field hockey, squash, wrestling and badminton. The sport complex is owned by Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It has total capacity of 30,000 and it is located within walking distance from Peshawar Saddar and Peshawar Cantonment railway station.
Qayyum Stadium is founded in 1975. The current site was selected in 1975 after previously using several grounds at the different locations in Peshawar. The current facility is multipurpose sport facility with provision for Football, Field Hockey, Wrestling, Badminton, Karate to name a few.
The first grandstand at the Qayyum Stadium was a cricket club, which was built in 1975. Furthermore, there is another grandstand in football ground. In march 2016, the provincial government of PTI launches the renovation and beautification of Qayyum Stadium. [2]

The Federally Administered Tribal Areas, commonly known as FATA, was a semi-autonomous tribal region in north-western Pakistan that existed from 1947 until being merged with the neighbouring province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2018 through the Twenty-fifth amendment to the constitution of Pakistan. Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai is an Islamic cleric, Imam, Khatib and head of the regional moon-sighting committee at the historic Qasim Ali Khan Mosque, Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Syed Aqil Shah, is a Pakistani politician, president of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association, and the former president of Pakistan Wrestling Federation, provincial minister for sports, tourism and culture who represented Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from PK-4 (Swat-III) constituency. Aqil served twice as state minister after contesting assembly elections of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2008 and later the 2013 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial election. Aqil twice served as member of Peshawar Cantonment, the senate, and provincial secretary for information.
General elections were held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday, 25 July 2018 to elect the 51 members of 15th National Assembly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) obtained a landslide victory in the province by winning 37 general seats and increased their margin of victory from 2013. The PTI also won 8 out of 10 reserved seats while the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) and Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) won 1 reserved seat each.
