Route R4 is a main cross-city bus route in Canberra, Australia operated by ACTION between Belconnen, City, Woden Town Centre and Tuggeranong. [1]
The origins of the route can be traced back to the introduction by ACTION of bus services between Canberra City Centre and the growing Woden Valley and Tuggeranong regions in the 1970s. [2] In January 1989, the Intertown brand was introduced on cross-city route 333 between Belconnen and Tuggeranong. In 1998 route 333 was split into six separate routes with each operating beyond Tuggeranong to different termini. [3]
The Blue Rapid brand was introduced in November 2010. [4] [5] Route 300 was introduced on weekends on 7 October 2017. [6] [7] It had a sister service known as the Red Rapid with a further seven originally planned to be introduced by 2018. [8] [9] [10] The Blue Rapid branding was discontinued on 29 April 2019 and it was rebranded as route R4 to coincide with the addition of eight rapid bus routes and the light rail. [11]
On weekdays, route R4 operates at a 5 to 10 minute frequency between 07:00 and 19:00 with a 15 minute frequency until midnight. On weekends, it operates at a 15 minute frequency from first to last service. [1]

Route R4 serves the following bus stations which are located in different districts.
Northbound services stop at platform 6 and southbound services at platform 3. [12] The bus station is located adjacent to Belconnen bus depot.
Northbound services stop at platform 2 and southbound services at platform 1. [13] The bus station is located on the Lathlain Street entrance of Westfield Belconnen.
Northbound services stop at platform 4 and southbound services at platform 1. [14]
Northbound services stop at platform 1 and southbound services at platform 4 with connections to CDC Canberra services to Queanbeyan and Yass. [15]
City Interchange is located on East Row and Alinga Street. Connection is available to the Canberra Light Rail to Gungahlin.
At Woden Interchange, northbound services stop at platform 6 and southbound services at platform 4 with connections to Qcity Transit and Transborder Express services. [16]
At Tuggeranong Interchange, northbound services stop at platform 8 and southbound services arrive at platform 2. [17]

Caerphilly railway station is a railway station serving the town of Caerphilly, south Wales. It is a stop on the Rhymney Line of the Valley Lines network. The station is located at Station Road in the south of the town. Facilities include a small shop and a ticket kiosk. A self-service ticket machine was installed near the entrance to the station on 22 December 2008. Several advertising murals depicting holiday travel in various parts of South Wales have been placed on the northbound side of the station in order to improve the 'look' of the station.
Gungahlin Drive Extension (GDE) is a motorway grade road, located in the Belconnen district of Canberra, Australia. It is 8.3 kilometres long and extended the previously existing Gungahlin Drive from the Barton Highway in the district of Gungahlin to the Glenloch Interchange to connect with the Tuggeranong Parkway, Parkes Way, and William Hovell Drive. Early in the planning stages, the GDE was to instead be designated the John Dedman Parkway.

It consists of 7 platforms and provides connections between bus routes servicing the District of Tuggeranong. The bus station is located next to South.Point Tuggeranong on a section of Pitman St between Holwell and Anketell Streets which is closed to regular vehicular traffic.
Gungahlin Place is a transport interchange located in the Gungahlin Town Centre. It is the northern terminus of the Canberra Metro R1 Civic to Gungahlin line and is an important connection point between light rail and bus transport. The current bus interchange opened on 21 April 2018. Despite the station being named Gungahlin Place, the light rail platforms are actually located on a section of Hibberson Street that has been closed to road traffic. Light rail service began in April 2019.
The Belconnen Bikeway is a 4.7 km (2.9 mi) commuter cycleway in the district of Belconnen, a northern suburb of Canberra, Australia. It is designated as route C3a by Transport Canberra, and connects the Belconnen Town Centre with the University of Canberra, Radford College and Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) Bruce campus, as well as to the broader cycle network. The bikeway is one of two routes diverging from the main C3 trunk route. It was the second fully separated off-street cycle route in Canberra to be completed, providing an east–west link across the Town Centre.
