ROKS Sinseong (PCC-783) is a Pohang-class corvette of the Republic of Korea Navy. [1]
The Pohang class is a series of corvettes built by different Korean shipbuilding companies. The class consists of 24 ships and some after decommissioning were sold or given to other countries. There are five different types of designs in the class from Flight II to Flight VI. [2]
Sinseong was launched on 8 October 1991 by Hanjin Heavy Industries. The vessel was commissioned on 28 March 1992.
She participated in Foal Eagle 2007.
The Donghae-class PCC is the low-end complement of the high-low mix domestic naval construction plan of the Republic of Korea Navy under the 1st Yulgok Project (1974-1986) for the Republic of Korea Armed Forces. The ship is designed for patrolling maritime border, including the Northern Limit Line, protecting the littoral zone, and combating the North Korean vessels.
