Rabita Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (RJUI) is a Deobandi Islamist political party in Pakistan. It was established on 29 December 2020 as a breakway faction of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) (JUI-F), which was led by Fazl-ur-Rehman. The founder of the RJUI is Muhammad Khan Sherani and the Ameer of the party is Shuja ul Mulk. [3] [4] The party was registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan on 20 September 2022. [5]

On 31 March 2021, Sherani met Fazl-ur-Rehman to inquire about his health and make suggestions to resolve the differences between their parties. "If Fazl acts on our suggestions, we will join him again," Sherani said. [6]

Alliance with Imran Khan's PTI

On 13 June 2022, Sherani met with Imran Khan and declared an alliance with his party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. [7]

Sherani also took to Twitter and said that when he asked Fazl ur-Rehman does he have proof that Imran Khan is a Jewish and Indian agent, the latter responded with "it's just a political statement". [8]

Fazal-ur-Rehman is a Pakistani politician who is the president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F). He is also the president of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), a coalition of political parties which ousted then prime minister Imran Khan through a no-confidence motion in 2022. He was a member of the National Assembly between 1988 and 2018, and the Leader of the Opposition from 2004 to 2007. He is a supporter of the Taliban government in Afghanistan and has demanded for its international recognition. In the 1980s, he was part of the Movement for the Restoration of Democracy (MRD), which was formed to end the military regime of General Zia-ul-Haq.

Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani is a Pakistani Deobandi religious cleric and politician who established Rabita Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam the breakway faction of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) over rifts with (JUI-F) leader Fazal-ur-Rehman. He had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, between 1988 and May 2018. He was the Chairman of the influential Council of Islamic Ideology from 2010 to 2016.

On 19 August 2017, Attaullah Shah, a prominent worker of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), was shot dead by unknown assailants at Bannu Ada, Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. No one claimed responsibility of the assault.

Maulana Lutf ur Rehman is a Pakistani politician hailing from Dera Ismail Khan belong to Jamiat Ulema-e Islam (F). He served as a member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from May 2013 to May 2018 and from August 2018 to January 2023. He served as the Leader of the Opposition of the 10th Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.

Maulana Abdul Wasey is a Pakistani politician who served as the member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from 2018 to 2023. He also remained member of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan from 2013 to 2018, 2008 to 2013, 2002 to 2008, 1997 to 1999 and 1993 to 1996. He is currently serving as the president of JUI-F in Balochistan province.

Maulana Hamdullah Jan Dagai aka Dagai Baba Ji was a Pakistani Islamic scholar and politician. He was a student of Muhammad Zakariyya al-Kandhlawi and Hussain Ahmad Madani. He was born in 1909 in Dagai, a village in Swabi District. He studied at Darul Uloom Deoband and Mazahirul Uloom Saharanpur. He died on 12 January 2019, aged 110. He was politically affiliated with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F).

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2018 Pakistani general election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa</span>

General elections were held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday, 25 July 2018 to elect the 51 members of 15th National Assembly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) obtained a landslide victory in the province by winning 37 general seats and increased their margin of victory from 2013. The PTI also won 8 out of 10 reserved seats while the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) and Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) won 1 reserved seat each.
