Racci Shay (born Racci Shay Hart December 4, 1973) is an American drummer. He is most famous for his involvement with the Genitorturers, Dope, horror punk band Wednesday 13 [1] and most recently the touring drummer for Murderdolls. He has been featured in the "Vic Firth Artist Spotlight", featuring an interview taken with him, at a live show with Wednesday 13 in New York City.

Musical career

Shay has played in several bands starting with Shok L'amour in 1992 and then Synical. In 1997, he joined the Genitorturers. [3] During his time in the Genitorturers, Shay joined Grim Faeries guitarist Mikee Plastik (current collaborator with Pete Jones of PIL) in a side punk project The Infamous Plastic People, doing a handful of dates with Melt Banana, Marky Ramone, and Fear. In 2001 Racci left the Genitorturers [3] (replaced by Angel) to join the industrial group Dope. [4] He stayed with Dope until 2005 (replaced by Daniel Fox) when he quit. He then joined Wednesday 13's new band along with fellow Synical member Eric Griffin. He later parted with Wednesday 13 due to personal issues. Shay stated in a recent interview with Joey Jordison he is the new drummer for Murderdolls. Since joining Murderdolls, Shay has performed on Stateside and International tours and/or festivals with several major artists, such as Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, Guns N' Roses, Queens of the Stone Age, Slash, Primus, Slayer, and Iron Maiden.

Synical are an alternative rock act based in Hollywood, California, formed in 1989 by Brian Haught and continuing on today. Guitarist Eric Griffin later went on to play with the band Murderdolls .

Wednesday 13 American musician

Joseph Michael Poole is an American singer and musician best known by his stage name Wednesday 13. As well as his solo career, he is known for being the frontman of Murderdolls. He has also played in several other bands, including Maniac Spider Trash, Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13, Bourbon Crow, and Gunfire 76.

Eric Michael Griffin is an American rock guitarist. He is most famous for playing bass in the horror punk band Murderdolls (2002–2004) and guitar in Wednesday 13 (2006–2007). He is now living in Los Angeles.

Since he was with Dope, Shay has played Pearl drums, commonly with a two bass drum configuration. He used to play with Alchemy cymbals but currently uses Zildjian. His most recent configuration is unique in that he uses three floor toms arranged in the fashion of traditional toms. To facilitate this he uses a left-footed double pedal to position his bass drum by his hi-hat, enabling him to continue playing right-footed. He also uses Vic Firth Metal sticks.

Istanbul Agop Cymbals is a cymbal producer based in Turkey. Its products are well respected for their unique sound, which is formed by the method and the alloy used, the formula of which is known only to the owners of the firm, Armenians Arman and Sarkis Tomurcuk. It is one of two companies that formed after the split of Istanbul Cymbals.
