Radiant Secondary School is a secondary school located in the area of Katan, Bhimdatta / Mahendranagar, Mahakali, Kanchanpur District of Nepal. [1] It lies in Mahakali Zone of Nepal. [2] It lies in the Far-Western Development Region, Nepal. It is an educational institute that offers Basic Level and Secondary Level education to the students. [3] Every year about 1300 students attend entrance exams to study in this school, but only about 50% i.e. about 600 students only qualify. It offers intermediate education on science and management streams. [4] It allows students to study other subjects in Grade XII as non-credit subjects. It is affiliated to National Examination Board (Nepal), previously known as Higher Secondary Education Board of Nepal. Almost every teaching staff have graduated from the international level. [5] As per the analysis of Prasnauttar, it has been placed in the First best college in Sudurpashchim Province(also known as Province No. 7 in Nepal) of Nepal. The official website of the college is now on internet from where student can get regular activities of school. [6]

History

Radiant Secondary School was founded in 2057 BS (2000 AD) by some academicians. [7] It was previously on the opposite side of the current building which was taken on rent by the three founders. Previously, it was named Radiant Higher Secondary School. In 2020 it was renamed as Radiant Secondary School due to changes in the education system of Nepal.[ citation needed ]

Mission

The mission of the institute is to produce human resources that could contribute to the development of the nation through the education they receive during their student life. [8] It shapes the minds of every student in such a way that they can develop positive skills and attitudes to benefit the nation as well as to understand their social duties and responsibilities. [9]

Students

About 1000 students study in this institution in a disciplined and moral environment. [10] Students are not permitted to enter school premises without a proper school uniform. They must obey all the rules and regulations of the school, or they will be expelled. New students who want to join Radiant Secondary School for their higher studies can fill out forms online. [11]

Nirmala Panta, a 13-year-old girl from Kanchanpur, Nepal, was found raped and murdered in a sugarcane field near her home on 27 July 2018, after she had gone missing the day before. The news of the incident went viral on social media and received widespread condemnation. In the subsequent days and months, various justice campaigns and mass protests were organised throughout the country to put pressure on the government and the police. The first investigation carried out by the local police and a team from the Crime Investigation Bureau (CIB) drew widespread criticism for its methods and conduct.

Yagya Raj Joshi is a Nepalese politician currently serving as the Governor of Karnali Province. He was appointed as Governor, as per the Article 163 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal by the President Ram Chandra Poudel on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers of the Government of Nepal on 1 August 2024.
