Originally, it was scheduled for release in May 2006, but later changed to be released on 16 October 2006. The album has sold 935,687 copies as of October 2014.

Lemar Obika, known mononymously as Lemar, is an English singer, songwriter and record producer. V Festival, often referred to as V Fest or simply V, is an annual music festival held in the United Kingdom during the third weekend in August. Help: A Day in the Life is a 2005 compilation album of music by contemporary artists from Britain and Canada. It was produced by the UK charity War Child to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their previous release, The Help Album, and to raise money to fund the charity's efforts in war-torn countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina. The name is a conglomeration of the titles of two Beatles songs, "Help!" and "A Day in the Life". On Wednesday 14 September 2005, five days after its release, it broke the record for the fastest-selling download album ever.

T4 on the Beach was an annual British one-day music event which was held on the beach at Weston-super-Mare and televised on Channel 4. The event began in 2003 as Pop Beach in Great Yarmouth, changing to the current title and venue in 2005. The day consisted of a number of major contemporary pop and rock music acts from the UK and overseas, performing short sets in front of an audience of over 40,000. Music industry professionals nominated artists, venues and hardware into the Judge's Choice award categories. The rest of the awards were made up of People's Choice Awards, voted for by the public. The final awards were held at the Camden Roundhouse on 29 September 2011.

Daniel Pearce is an English singer, songwriter and actor who was a finalist on the ITV reality TV show Popstars: The Rivals. He won a place in the British boy band One True Voice, who subsequently released two top ten singles, "Sacred Trust"/"After You're Gone" and "Shakespeare's Words". Pearce, an arranger and co-writer of some of their songs, left the group in summer 2003, shortly before the band split up. In September 2009, he auditioned for the 2009 series of The X Factor, but failed to progress as far as the live finals.
The Jingle Bell Ball is a concert held every year in December, by the radio station Capital FM at The O2 Arena. Artists that have headlined the concert include Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Little Mix, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, The Black Eyed Peas, Coldplay, Stormzy, Lady Gaga, Girls Aloud, Kylie Minogue and Janet Jackson. Our Version of Events Tour was a debut global concert tour by Scottish singer Emeli Sandé, in support of her 2012 debut album, Our Version of Events. The tour ran for over two years from 2011 till 2013, covering five continents in the process.
